With plenty of other things keeping us busy this week, we decided to forgo the usual Wednesday This Week Inside Sim Racing live show and do something slightly different, called This Week We Race! We’ve been talking forever about running more races with you guys, so this is us putting our money were our mouth is. Hopefully we’ll do this about once a month, but just don’t make us swear on our grandparents grave to that. This is another one of those #soon things…
This week’s race saw us at Road America on iRacing with the recently released Audi 90 GTO and Nissan GTP ZX-T for a 45 min race. The hosted session kicked off at 4pm est (8pm gmt) – aka regular TWISR start time – and the race started after a 60 min practice session and 15 min qualifying session.
Thanks to a shared setup – tip of the hat to the guys sharing them in practice – and me finally not spinning out every single lap, I was able to put the Nissan on the second row despite a last minute thrash to switch from the Oculus Rift CV1 back to triples after the Oculus lost center at the end of practice and refused to find it again. Technology…
From there on out I’ll let the video do the talking but it turned into a fairly entertaining – and at times frustrating – race.
