Although American Truck Simulator has already been out for over a year now, Czech developer SCS Software is far from abandoning the project. Like many sim racing developers, SCS is improving its games over time, hence they could still be considered “work in progress”. Now, a new state and heavy cargo trailers have been teased.
New state, New Mexico?
A trailer has been released teasing a new state for American Truck Simulator. In the video, which you can check out above, a little alien creature makes an appearance too, hinting to a possible location. If you interpret the alien as a reference to the Roswell incident, then New Mexico will most likely be on its way to American Truck Simulator.
In its blog post, SCS emphasises the attention to detail with which the new state is being developed, referring to the alien of course. But all jokes aside, we can expect a well modelled and highly detailed environment being added. An ETA is not available yet though.
Following up the announcement of heavy-cargo trailers coming to Euro Truck Simulator 2, SCS has now teased some similar heavy-cargo trailers for American Truck Simulator. Due to US regulations, these will feature different axle configurations and like the ones for ETS2, will offer a whole new driving experience.
In the community, it is being rumoured that these will also introduce the long-awaited multiple pivot points for trailers to the game as well. However, there is now official word on those rumours yet and a release dat is not available either.
Below you can view some preview images of the trailers.
