If you’re a fan of the BBC show Top Gear, you have heard of “The Stig”. If you haven’t, go watch cause it’s probably one of, if not the best show on television. Not the U.S. version, the one in the UK. Ben Collins who is a former racecar driver and former Stig has been part of the Project Cars development team as a Physics and Handling consultant since they started. He visited Slightly Mad to offer up some first hand consultation as he takes the Formula C for a spin.
Cool looking rig they have setup for him to drive. Fanatec Clubsport wheel with the BMW rim on what looks like a Ricmotech type chassis painted blue.
At about the 1:35 mark he stops driving and talks about the experience and what he thinks about the physics in that particular car. Also talks about how the Formula A needs work and spins out easily. Based on this video, he provides some great feedback for the development team. Matter of fact, you can hear someone replying to his comments. Great behind the scenes stuff !
If you haven’t heard, Project Cars is now being developed for the next gen consoles and the PC and will hopefully be available at the end of 2014.
