Project CARS 2 – Porsche Test Track Coming Next Week As Part of Porsche Legends Pack

What started as a wild guess now turned into reality: The Porsche test track, also known as the “Porsche On-road Circuit” is coming to Project CARS 2 next Tuesday as part of the Porsche Legends Pack together with nine other prime examples of German race car engineering!

The Porsche Test Track?

Located in Leipzig, Germany, the Porsche On-road Circuit is a FIA-certified best of compilation of various tracks around the world, to push cars in the real world – and now also the virtual world – to their absolute limits.

The track was designed by famous F1-track designer Hermann Tilke, who was inspired by “the Suzuka S bend, Sebring’s Sunset Bend, the late-braking test of guts for the Loews-at-Monaco-inspired hairpin, the Mobil 1 S bend (a carbon-copy of the Nürburgring Grand Prix), the suck-in-your-breath speed through the Curve di Lesmo, and the triple-turn Spa-Francorchamps Bus Stop chicane – all, along with the final Fuji-inspired Suntory bend”.

All of these track elements are represented in the Porsche track, together with pit boxes which are an exclusive to the virtual version. This is the first ever appearance for the Porsche test track in a sim racing title.

We already know that the Porsche 2017 Porsche 911 RSR and the “Can-Am Killer” 1972 Porsche 917/10 will be part of the pack. The latest Slightly Mad Studios blog post now also revealed that the 1973 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 will be joining the two together with 6 still unannounced cars.

By the way, if you ever wondered what RSR stood for (“RennSport Rennwagen”; non-road legal Porsche race cars). In German, it was jokingly referred to as “rar, sehr rar”, meaning “rare, very rare” in English.

The Porsche Legends Pack will be released on March 6 on all platforms and it will be free for all season pass holders!
