Presenting Test Drive of the new Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix Circuit in Assetto Corsa *. Race Park Almere isn’t a reality yet – for a number of reasons – but that doesn’t mean that it can’t exist in virtual reality…
See what I did there? Ok, I’ll see myself out.

While Race Park Almere may be powered by hopes and dreams, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth a look, so that’s exactly what we have done.
The circuit lives in mod form on Assetto Corsa – download here – and is very tricky and entertaining, which is a hard line to walk. With 19 corners jammed on a small plot of land, it makes for a busy lap…and that’s before you take the elevation changes into account. The undulation can easily catch you out, and reconfirm that one of the greatest assets of a track is elevation change.
But while there’s a lot of great aspects to the future home of the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix *, there is one problem that we see.
Too many damn turns.
Before Formula 1 go to track designer Herman Tilke crammed 30 turns into 3 miles of road, tracks had space to breath.
So besides just driving Race Park Almere, we’ve gone one step further and offered up an alternative layout.
It was actually a lot of fun to design.
Let us know what you think of the original layout and our suggestions.
*Probably not the next location of the Dutch Grand Prix
