Myrtle Beach Speedway Coming to iRacing

Not only new cars are on their way in the iRacing universe but new tracks as well – Myrtle Bach Speedway is coming to iRacing! Currently, release is scheduled to be in June. The track was already teased on Twitter as you can see below and a small trailer was also provided and you can view it above.

Myrthle, who?

Myrthle Beach Speedway! A half-mile oval track located in South Carolina, near Myrthle Beach.

The track is nearly sixty years old now and originally started out as a dirt track, known as Rambi Raceway. After an acquisition, it was paved in 1974. Just recently, in 2012, the track was bought yet again and big things are in store, supposedly. To make the track more attractive for tourists for example, the NASCAR Racing Experience was introduced, where you can drive a real NASCAR!

Over the years, lots of racing series competed at Myrthle Beach. Towards the end of the fifties and the beginning of the sixties, the NASCAR Cup series raced at Myrthle and from 1988 until 2000 the NASCAR Busch series had Myrthle Beach on its schedule. Today, apart from the NASCAR Driving Experience, the track is host to the “Myrtle Beach 400, IceBreaker 200, Monster Jam, NOPI Nationals and Horry County Fair.” You can also enjoy weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series races from February through November. Racing classes include “Late Model Charger, Super Trucks and Mini Stocks.”
