In case you missed it, here is the official MXGP3 announcement trailer Milestone released last month
Milestone has made many announcements about their current developments lately. We had the announcement of MXGP3 – which would utilize the powerful Unreal 4 Engine, then the announcement of an upcoming mystery IP – we learned earlier today this IP would be titled “Gravel”, and now Milestone has announced the addition of 2 stroke motorcycles fallowed by a release date for MXGP3. This developer has clearly been working very hard to keep the community engaged and inspire excitement for their upcoming titles.
Judging by the screenshots, Unreal 4 Engine is bringing some serious graphical quality to MXGP3. The lighting, textures, motorcycles and terrain all look beautiful. MXGP3 will also include a deforming race track surface, the tires of the bikes racing on the track will create divots and ruts in the dirt just like they would in real life. This means that you’re never racing over the exact same surface twice, the track and therefore the best path will be constantly changing. This should provide a realistic and competitive racing experience, however, it will also be resource intensive. It should be interesting to see how Unreal 4 Engine holds up to the added demands, while things are looking promising so far, we won’t know for sure until MXGP3’s official release in March.
