First RaceRoom Nordschleife Video

Sector3 Studios decided to start of the new year right by releasing the first video of their forthcoming laser-scanned version of the Nordschleife in RaceRoom.  Like the recently released FR2, Sector3 decided to tease the track with a RUF GT3 onboard lap, giving a good idea what it will be like to drive The Green Hell upon release.  Well technically…what it’s like to drive the combined Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

While the track looks done, the team is still putting in the final touches, including more vegetation.  It’s actually all very similar to iRacing, whom showed off the track in the Fall with the caveat that – while it looked done – it still needed a lot of trees and shrubbery.

Ah The Green Hell, it gets it’s name for a reason.

Sector3 did not provide a timeframe for release of the Nordschleife, but they usually don’t mess around in terms of previewing content and releasing it.

What I’m curious about – and if this information is out there somewhere correct me and I’ll update the post – is how the track is going to be sold.  Pretty much every sim has done it differently.  Project CARS offers both the Nürburgring and Nordschleife combined as base content.  Assetto Corsa gives you the Nürburgring for free, then offers the Nordschleife as DLC to run the combined circuit.  iRacing makes you pay for both to run the combined course.

RaceRoom already has the Nürburgring for sale, so do you just buy the Nordschleife and you’re good?  Will there be a discount if you already own the Nürburgring?  Will they be sold as a package?  Will the track be more expensive then other circuits due to the size?  Will it be awesome?

Wait…ignore that last one, of course it will be.
