First Look at Le Mans Coming to iRacing in 2016

The team at iRacing have produced a promotional video featuring an interview with five time Le Mans winner Frank Biela and a first look at Le Mans coming to iRacing in 2016!  iRacing are certainly peppering us with some fantastic content lately, with the much anticipated Le Mans coming to iRacing later this year, we can look forward to many hours of  practice and prepare for a possible iRacing 24 hours of Le Mans event in the not too distant future!

The Circuit de la Sarthe is undoubtedly one of the most iconic racing tracks in the entire world. Since its inauguration in 1923, the circuit has played host to the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 2016 race, the 84th edition of this massively popular FIA WEC round, will be held this weekend, spanning two days from the 18th to 19th of June at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France.

Now that we know the Le Mans circuit is coming to iRacing this year, it would be very cool to see some LMP1 Porsches and Audis or similar making it into the title as well. What do you guys think, would you like to go around Le Mans in these 300 kmh plus Hybrids? It will certainly be utterly awesome in VR, sitting in a claustrophobic LMP1 cockpit and thundering down the Mulsanne straight at over 300kmh!

The video contains some great work in progress stills, as well as the always interesting Laser Scan images of the real thing. Frank Biela also relates to us his experiences of iRacing and has assured us that as soon as the circuit is released, you will find him in the iRacing practice lobbies fighting for grid positions. This is yet another testament to the power of sim racing and how real world drivers use our genre as a training tool. Frank also goes into more detail of his Le Mans experience, as a five time winner he is probably one of the best authorities on everything Le Mans.

Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, is due for release on iRacing later in 2016!
