Another F1 game is coming on August 24 this year – F1 2018! And whilst the announcement should not really surprise anyone, the new features are the true star of the show.
What’s New Then?
Codemaster did not really give that much away in its initial announcement. We did learn however that the career mode has been expanded “with the return of a highly requested feature”. Guesses?
Furthermore, Codemaster is building on its newly established base of classic cars with the coming title. Twitter provides some hints as to what could be in the works.

Apart from that, there are of course the new (actually returning) tracks – French Circuit Paul Ricard and German Hockenheimring – and features F1 itself introduced this season, e.g. the infamous halo.
There Is a Beta Coming
We know for sure that Codemaster will run an open beta, for more info, i.e. registration, click the link! It is supposed to kick off “soon”.
Again, global release day for F1 2018 is August 24 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One/ One X and PC.
Paul Jeal – F1 Franchise Director, Codemasters
We were delighted by the reception that the highly-acclaimed F1 2017 game received, and are extremely excited to be able to further build on such a strong starting point with F1 2018.
Over the past few years we have engaged heavily with our fan-base to understand what is important to them, and we cannot wait to unveil more details on features we know our fans will love. Career mode has been further expanded to immerse players even deeper into the world of F1 than before, with the return of a highly requested feature back into the franchise. We are also adding more classic cars, again listening to our fans as to which of the historical F1 cars they would most like to virtually drive next. Outside of those headline additions there are many other great enhancements to be revealed before the game launches.
