ProtoSimTech (co-founded by Chris Smith, also known as GTFREAK in our forums) has taken us through an interesting journey, showing us the different stages of development in his pedal set. Now, ProtoSimTech has officially announced the finished version, the PT-1.
The ProtoSimTech PT-1 is a high end set of pedals, at an accessible price. Featuring a near-unprecedented level of adjustability, they will be able to accommodate your own personal driving style. The brake features a 50kg load cell, which can be adjusted for a lighter or heavier force required, while still keeping all 4096 steps of resolution.
The clutch features a unique mechanism, to try to recreate the real feel of a car’s clutch. Utilizing a digressive system similar to the Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V2, this system can also be extensively adjusted, or even removed if you just want a linear feel. The clutch, as well as the gas pedal, use industrial grade potentiometers, rated for over a million cycles.
Now to the part you all are looking forward to, the price. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with this:
- $319 for the gas and brake
- $379 for all three pedals
If nothing changes, the pedals are planned for release this October, with pre-orders opening this fall. The first round of pedals will only include twenty units, on a first-come-first serve basis.
