704Games, the team behind the NASCAR Heat series, has received a financial boost in form of an investment by Motorsport Network. Why is this important? It allows the team to tackle bigger projects, like expanding into the esports genre and renewing license deals!
The Plans for the Future
With the release of NASCAR Heat 3 and all following titles, 704Games is planning to go big in the esports department – a genre receiving major popularity and attention in the #SimRacing industry.
In exactly which form this is going to happen was not disclosed, but the NASCAR Heat Champions event during the Daytona 500 and the over two million downloads strong NASCAR Heat Mobile game only mark the beginning, says the press release.
NASCAR Gaming Secured
Together with the investment, 704Games also announced that it had renewed the official NASCAR licence, securing NASCAR games until 2029.
With the investment – of an undisclosed amount by the way –, the Motorsport Network, running various sites like motorsport.com, joins stakeholders of the likes of HC2 Holdings Inc., PlayFast Games, LLC, Leo Capital Holdings LLC, and Gaming Nation Inc.
By the way, this is not a (public) first in the #SimRacing industry as of recently. You may remember, that Kunos Simulazioni was bought by Digital Bros last year, securing funding for major projects like Assetto Corsa Competizione.
NASCAR Heat 3 is set for release on September 7 – as far os we know North America only.
