Nvidia Control Panel settings don't have any effect on the game

6 posts in this topic

I am trying to fix the AA.  It seems like no matter what setting I
put it on in the Nvidia Control panel, it makes no change whatsoever in
the game, the only thing that works is to set the in game AA slider to
8x, since it won't let me do 16x, and that still is nowhere near
clearing up these nasty jaggies.  I have tried changing the settings in
the netkar.exe AND the NKS applications, but still, NOTHING.

Anybody have any advice?

Thanks!

Hi Synthbent... Have you gone to Nvidia web site and download the Geforce Game Experiebce..? its a program that looks over you settings and checks your computer and video card and  then ask if you want to Optimize your card for the best video proformance.. I have use it for other games and it helps... its free to download from Nvida web site .. Check it out and see it if helps...  So hope this works for you....

Hey SOA, Thanks for the suggestion.  I downloaded the program and when I ran it it didn't recognize NetKar as a supported game, so, no luck there.  I did, however, take a screenshot between the in game setting of 8x AA and the Nvidia settings of 32x AA and the 32x looks SLIGHTLY better.  It just still looks much more jaggy than my other sims.  Maybe I have to mess with the mipmap settings

Well I think I got it the best it will get.  The main thing I had to do was go into the config file and change the mipmap setting from -2.5 to 0.  This makes far off textures look out of focus, but I don't have that glitter effect anymore.
