steakastig 11 Report post Posted January 30, 2013 don't know if anyone else have seen this yet but just thought I'd spread the word, at the moment this news isn't set in stone so take it as you will. http://www.gtplanet.net/logitech-may-discontinue-steering-wheel-peripherals/ Stiggy
shannonb1 7 Report post Posted January 30, 2013 Pretty sure I read that they said they will continue to make the PC Gaming perphirials.
LowHungFuzzyDice 32 Report post Posted January 30, 2013 Not sure if Logitech makes any console controllers that aren't also PC controllers. We'll just wait and see. There's a thread about this on the forum already.
Gunstar 615 Report post Posted January 31, 2013 That would be a shame, at the least. The DFGT is a great, maybe the best, starter wheel, and the G27 is certainly a capable, if not high end anymore, wheel... and I think it would be a loss for sim racing to lose Logitechs support. It feels like they missed a chance to capitalize on the G27s success tho, and let the high end consumer price point slip away to Thrustmaster and the T500... you suppose Logitech might have not expected it to sell so well at a higher price point? left888 18 Report post Posted January 31, 2013 I always imagined they were going to release an update to the G27, a belt drive. That would have compete written all over it.
LowHungFuzzyDice 32 Report post Posted January 31, 2013 It's probably unlikely, but who knows? They may still come out with a G29 or whatever they'll call it, exclusively for the PC.
Webbmark 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2013 G27 has been discontinued.. It was the gap between budget market and high-end market.
Shrimp 2 Report post Posted April 9, 2013 G27 has been discontinued.. It was the gap between budget market and high-end market. I saw someone recently claiming this on gtplanet forums, but it was just based on something he claimed a customer service rep in Holland had told him. (Was that you, perhaps?) Do you have any source to back this up?? Or just rumor?
Johnny Carr 106 Report post Posted April 9, 2013 Logitech will be discontinuing console game controllers not PC wheels.
J.A.R.V.I.S. 282 Report post Posted April 9, 2013 I heard that they will be making more PC stuff not console stuff...
Webbmark 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2013 I hope they will announce a G29 with an E-brake or something.
coops 18 Report post Posted April 22, 2013 the wheel is safe...... i did ask darin b4 if he could do interview with logitech to see what they are planning he said great idea. but have not heard any more about it.
Gunstar 615 Report post Posted April 22, 2013 With Logi relaunching the G line on their site and including both the GT and the G27, I think they are pretty secure. I did notice that while the GT still has the GT logo on the horn button, it doesn't have a PS logo on the PS button... did it ever?
FFB_Maniac 2 Report post Posted April 22, 2013 The Logitech G27 was removed from the official Europe Logitech website and shop...
steakastig 11 Report post Posted April 23, 2013 I just looked and it's still there :S
Joe Berkett 70 Report post Posted June 4, 2013 Hi Team Nah Logitech are done with wheels, they aren't making a "G29" or anything like that. The G27 is the last which yes is a shame because they made good wheels. They will continue to make keyboards, mice and other PC stuff
J.A.R.V.I.S. 282 Report post Posted June 4, 2013 Well, even if the G29 would have come out I'd still have gotten a T500 or a Fanatec CSW... Since it would not come out very soon...
Gunstar 615 Report post Posted June 4, 2013 I don't think Logitech is really looking to go over the $300 range, and there really isn't anything out there mass market that competes anyways. If we do see a new Logi wheel, it will probably be attached to one of the new gen systems.
Webbmark 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2013 And its on Logitech their website and some local stores available again (Europe). Only the price is still too high.
mrbasherman 41 Report post Posted June 5, 2013 It's odd this keeps coming up. Logitech recently redid their "gaming" site it seems. included in it, are the G27 and DFGT. http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/gaming-controllers
Webbmark 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 @ mrbasherman Then why does a website re-design causes the stock of local webshops to run out of G27's? Can't they re-design their website and at the same time keep the products going? Also before the website re-design the G27 was removed from the website while the DFGT was still there. Gunstar 615 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 It never went off the site in the US, I can only assume it had something to do with the G line relaunch... maybe it was on the brink and it barely made the cut, but I don't see how, they've sold a zillion of them. Thirsty 601 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 I'd really hope they'll come up with a G29 and I do hope it would be a gear driven one again. Just maybe a bit more solid (a bit of metal in there would be great) and a stronger motor so you can put bigger aftermarket wheel rims on it.
Gunstar 615 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Somehow I have to believe that the next generation of Logitech wheel will go to one of the new consoles... and being as Sony seems to have gone with Thrustmaster and Fanatec just isn't very mass market, I'm going to put my money on Logitech making the official wheel for the ONE and Forza 5.
