Didn't need PVC glue, but I added some after banging in all the pipes into the joints, just to be extra sure they're held in place. Super-solid! No movement whatsoever, I especially like the shifter mount! All I've got to do now is paint it! I'm thinking black would be nice. simul8r 114 Report post Posted September 23, 2012 Hey SIMUL8R, I just need to confirm that this is the correct design for the front end of the rig. The illustrations you drew had me confused at first, but I think I've got it right. I believe this design makes the rig sturdier than the previous MK1 design? Packing up today, moving to Jordan tomorrow for college. Rig's going in the 4x4 along with all my other stuff, what's great is the whole thing is extremely compact when dis-assembled, fits into a nice small box! I figured it might confuse some. The Mark II design was a work in progress at the time when asked by ISR if they can make a video of the Mark I. I asked if they can hold off until I finished the Mark II plans and unfortunately thats how the table top config you see came about right after I submitted the Mark II plans. But, anyway, the design you see offers a better tilt wheel mount which was stronger than a single pipe config plus a heftier table top to support larger monitors. Jordan? I am a n00b to SIM racing and I am starting off with forza4 (I know its not as realistic as the PC counter parts but my budget doesn't have room to build a PC just yet.) This is my first rig and I think it will do just fine for me. Another clean build and your welcome mavictb, hope your rig offers that sim enjoyment you've been looking for. Enjoy! Nice paint job, however, I notice the seat tilting a little more to the right. If they are all flat to the ground, then its really simple. Essentially some drilling will be required to place the bolts on the surface you have for the cockpit. In my case I had one mounting bracket that is perpendicular to the surface. I placed a piece of 2x4 on the side and bolted that to the seat and surface. Alvin Nieves 2 Report post Posted October 3, 2012 Since the seat and the railing came together (1994 Toyota Corolla) I just built the surface around them. I do not have any tools to straighten the brackets to place the bolts. I would also suggest that before drilling holes for the seat place it first on the surface and see if it would need to be lifted. Mine was too low and ended up placing two pieces of 2x4 on each side and another piece of plywood. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Regarding the pipe dimensions shown on the plans.....is that the TOTAL length of the pipe before assembly, or the distance between the fittings once assembled? mavictb 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2012 For those of you having some issues mounting your seat here is what I came up with. (Note I followed Simul8rs Plans with no modifications to PVC lengths). I used a 3/4 MDF board thats 26"x21". the 21" width just covers the PVC at the center of the two main beams , that way the PVC itself is exposed on the sides for cool looks and the board doesn't stick out to get hurt on. first I mounted the board to the PVC using SEVERAL wood screws. Then I drilled the holes for the bolts so that they did not interfere with the PVC or the nuts that I used on the bottom. with the seat rails still attached I put all 4 bolts in the mounting holes pointing down and moved the rail so that the top of all four bolts were sandwiched between the seat and the rail. then I turned the whole rig over on its side and lined up the seats bolts to the holes I drilled into the board. then I tightened the nuts using the large washers. (this is tricky but it worked) I weigh about 250lbs and apart from a little flex and creaking when entering/exiting the rig it is rock solid. heres a more detailed picture...
