Great to be back racing in the ATCC with all u guys really enjoyed the event,

Quali: my quali lap could of been better as i had a lock up and a big slide in T1 what lost me time but happy with P8

Race 1: Rolling start didnt go to good for me, lost a few positions before T1 and was of track on T3 so eneded up P11 on lap 1 so i got my head down and pushed for P8 for the reverse grid for race 2. Pitted early and when i left the pits i had clean air so tried my best to be fast and consistent. After the pit stops i was in P8 with a hard charging Diogo Lopez all over me, tried my best to survive but Lopez got past and pulled away so P9

Race 2: Standing start was ok i started 9th and was in P8 for T1 and tbh it was a lonely race for me as the leading pack was pulling away so i tried my best to control the gap between me and Chris Shepard who was chasing me down. I kept my head down and with a good pit stop i finished 8th  :-P

Overall i am happy with the results inside the top ten for both races but have to work on the feeling on the car after the pit stops.

Thanks to the TPS crew for the event, Ryan and Toby for another great broadcast. Oh 1 more thing guys please dont sack the Information/Speculation Elf  lol

It's a results system like GPCOS, with an added Live Timing feature.

However, it is neither as powerful nor useful as GPCOS as a results system, and the Live Timing feature is as limited as the seperate Live Timing feature we've had in the past, and not to be too blunt about it, therefore not worth the effort.

:)

I had a terrible nightmare early this morning... that I had completely forgotten about the next round, and jumped on the server just as the race was starting, only to find that my wheel wasn't plugged in.

I woke up in a cold sweat.

Good thing the next race is next year(11th January) then :P

Possible penalties from last round are yet to be announced... I guess the chaos on the opening lap from both races is taking a bit longer to be inspected.

I can't tell you how many times I've had dreams like this. So I know exactly the feeling.

Usually it happens the night before the event though.

The WSS race at Brasilia was a week after the Hungaroring round yet their incidents&penalties have alreay been announced. I doubt there were no penalties at all, I was involved in a accident myself on lap one of race 2(and as lap one incidents get checked anyway, I didn't hand in a report).

Any news?

I got a PM from Ivan yesterday.

He had then spent 12 hours looking for cuts in race 1 for D1

Holy lord! Does he have to check them all alone?!?

Someone needs to give this man a medal when he's done. No, seriously.

Anyone who puts in the countless hours that is needed prior, during and after a league to run it well are due medals because until you actually do it yourself, you never know the amount of work that goes into getting everything working right so everyone can show up, and enjoy their racing without an hiccups.

Well, I don't know about a medal. Maybe if I had done it in a week that would have merited some praise. I do apologize for this taking so long.

The fact is there was a lot of cutting. And just about everyone got the pit entry wrong.

For as many screenies posted, I feel like I should have posted a few of the chicane and the pit entry as well, just to clarify. :(

On the other hand, the examples are the same and the sames rules apply, as ever. So, it's also a bit disappointing that everyone got it all so wrong, given the maturity of this league and the driving standards that are expected in the TPS.

Anyway, I have everything mostly done and just need to go over it with other admins first. As Jonatan said, I hope to have it all posted up this weekend. I didn't want to spoil everyone's Christmas with penalties! At least, that's my story! :P

Div 1, Race 1

(Except for Lap 1, laps are referenced to in-game lap, i.e., Lap 3 2ndt lap of race, etc.)

Driver: Andre Caiado
Penalty: 5 points, 1 endorsement
Time: Lap 1, T2 (T=327)
Reason: Contact with Diogo Lopes

Explanation: Andre brakes too late and hits Diogo putting him wide and costing him the position.

___

Driver: Diogo Lopes
Penalty: 8 points, 2 endorsements
Time: Lap 1, T2 and 3
Reason: Unsafe rejoin causing a major incident

Explanation: After Diogo is put wide by Caiado he rejoins OK but is hit by Reggie Blain sending him wide again, this time onto the grass. Diogo rejoins the track and moves to the center of the track, setting up for T3 but Borges and Blain are two-wide and already taking an aggressive line into T3. Diogo makes contact with Blain, which pushes him into Borges who gets turned around at the corner exit, causing a chain reaction behind with dire consequences for Nelson's, Gardiner's, and Daniel Wood's races. Penalties would normally be doubled for this type of first lap incident but there are some mitigating circumstances reducing the penalty slightly.

A few drivers were also reported for cutting. For reference - Keithly ran wide once, and Gonçalves had two track boundary violations in the first five racing laps, so I stopped looking.)

Penalty: 5 points, 2 endorsements
Time: Lap 1 (Starting at T=189)

Hi guys.

First of all, I wanna wish a happy new year for everyone in our community.

Now I would like to reflect on the penalties awarded for "cutting" in the Hungaroring round. First, a mention to Ivan that I heard that spent a huge amount of hours looking at everyones race (as we understand by the penalties, corner by corner).

My opinion is that, if we are racing drivers, we are all seeking the limits. And when you are pushing your limits, it is anything but normal that sometimes you lose a portion of control, and as a consequence your line is affected. Should this be considered "cutting"?!  Not in my opinion, only if you deliberately do it, and it is clear that you are gaining time with it. Would not it be clear for everyone if someone was deliberately doing it?!! Would not it be commented straight from the commentators Ryan and Toby? They are usually very good at spotting "abnormal" things, and there was nothing that they pointed out during the broadcast, because there was nothing "unreal" from anyone. I actually commented with Ryan at the end of the race, that I thought that everyone behaved accordingly, and even though I had spotted some ppl going out of the track boundaries, it never seemed with the purpose of gaining time.

Speaking for myself, most of the times that I went out of the "boundaries" of the track in the Hungaroring races, it was due to driving mistakes, as the conditions of the tyres, brakes, etc keep deteriorating and you can't help but lose some control. In the case of Hungaroring, it just meant that I went wide a few times; if it was a street circuit I would have it the wall a few times as well, as I do not have 100% control of the car at all times.

My point here is that every driver I spoke with was happy with everyone else's behavior on that matter, and I think this is the biggest compliment everyone can have.

The penalties are, in my opinion, ultra-strict, and that would be the kind of penalties that should be given in a geometry test, not in a racing track.Touring pro series is in my opinion the community with the better "common-sense" in these situations, but in this case it seems like everyone forgot we are racing drivers and not robots .Giving all the merit for Ivan's hard work, I wonder if this is necessary at all. It seems to me that we, the racing drivers, are somehow being treated like "criminals" that as soon as an inch goes wrong in our trajectory line, we have a police man to "award" us a penalty.

Feel free to comment on my opinion =)

If it wasn't for the rules being "ultra-strict" the drivers would use that to their own advantage and then run out wide all the way, gain on it, and tell everyone "my tires were gone".

As a racing driver you are driving with rules, and the rules is to follow, so when you break one of these rules you get penalized, that's just how life works. Compare it to real life, if you shoot another guy by mistake, while you really were shooting for a bear, you would still get a case against you, where a judge judges the situation. Where it can go two ways, it was a mistake, or it was deliberately. Same goes for here, if Ivan counts it as a count because you drove over the track boundaries, obviously its then Ivan choice to penalize you or not for that one. And obviously if you do it several times it seems more like it was deliberately then a mistake, right?
