Is it allowed to use all the green here?

I think that may be the maximum, and that you may not use the green.

I believe all of them are supposed to show just how much track you can use and that you may not use any more than that seen on the pictures.

No, no, no!

Look at T13 exit. You can use all of the green AstroTurf, but may not have the full part any wheel beyond.

The answer to Simon is YES.

6.3.2

However, where there is kerbing/astroturf/concrete which you may use (which will be described in the race briefing often with attached screenshots), two wheels do not have to be within the outer edge of the white lines in this instance. However, in the case of this extra kerbing/astroturf/concrete, you may not run the full part of any of your wheels beyond those designated areas.

Here is another example of being within the TPS track boundaries:

For clarity, I understand that all this astroturf-riding is only allowed because it is now shown here. If there was no instruction the basic "white-line-rule" would have been the rule.

6.3.2 is an exception, the text being: "However, where there is kerbing/astroturf/concrete which you may use (which will be described in the race briefing often with attached screenshots),......."

Looking forward to watch the live transmission with the exceptional good commentators   :-P

Peter,

It is always allowed.

The parenthetical statement says the race briefing will "describe" the kerbing/astroturf/concrete used on the particular track, not redefine the rules for each race.  It's always been very consistent and the race briefing and screenshots are just there as reminders to reinforce the rule and identify any ambiguity about the textures used.  :???:

Hi Ivan

Ok, but that means that the text in my view is not perfect English. It implies that there may be kerbing/astroturf/concrete that you may not use (to be precised at the briefing).

And that is also what is shown in the examples, where the rules are not the same for kerbs, astroturf and concrete. You are not allowed to substitute the white lines for the kerbs (if these are the only things adjacent to the white lines). You are allowed to run with all four wheels on the astroturf. And you are not allowed to run a single wheel on the concrete.

Best regards

Peter

Basically, the overriding rule is some part of two wheels within the white lines at all times. In some cases, there is kerbing and even further textures beyond the kerbing that it is allowed to use. They will be specified before every event (with the words 'kerbing is defined by the red and white textures, and the green astroturf beyond in T1, T4 and T7,' for example). In this instance, it is allowed to use that kerbing and extra textures right up to the edge, thus having 4 wheels outside of the white lines, but you may not run beyond them.

I don't see what's unclear about that really, but there we go.

Cutting during Quali will be penalized as there is much time to be gained in many places.

Suggestion:  If you know you took too much space, such that you know it's a cut that gained time, you can back off on your Hot Lap and give yourself a grid spot penalty by giving back the time (make sure it's obvious!). This will avoid the points penalty.
