Chris Shepherd 53 Report post Posted November 30, 2012 Hello, can we run as close to the wall as possible, when cutting accross pitlane whilst on track, or is it just 2 wheels only and keep 2 wheels the correct side of the pitlane lines. Ivan Navarro 282 Report post Posted November 30, 2012 Hello, can we run as close to the wall as possible, when cutting accross pitlane whilst on track, or is it just 2 wheels only and keep 2 wheels the correct side of the pitlane lines. Thanks in advance Ivan! David Jundt 187 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 My fault when I hit Ethan in R2. I expected him to brake a tad later, past 4 in the morning and I reacted too late, messed my race up for good. I guess I get a penalty, which will probably cost me a place in D1
Jim Eagan 2 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 First, I'm happy to be back, after missing the first round at The Glen. Q: 11th with a PB of :35.4xx. Absolutely surprised, because Superpole usually sucks for me big time. R1: Started (and finished) the race with absolutely no FFB whatsoever. Something between my wheel and Race07 doesn't get along.... dunno. My race was largely uneventful and mistake-free. Even more surprising for me. Managed a :35.0xx in the race! Not bad with no feedback.... R2: FFB came back big time. It actually caught me totally off guard, so it took me a bit to settle down. Got through the chaos in the Andretti Hairpin, but got caught in the Turn 5 (before The Kink) melee and banged up the front bumper a bit. Again, no big mistakes from me for this race... just got caught up a bit in others' mistakes. No big deal.
Jonatan Åcerclinth 400 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 DIV 2: Could have been a better race 2 but I have almost no other than myself to blame Practice: Was a frustrating time with no way to find the secret to the car but then a unexpected source of help came up to me and said "Try this " and so I did and suddenly went 2-3 seconds faster Q: Good lap, just a good lap. Hit my PB Q lap with a 1.33.8 which I was very happy with Gave me 3rd and a very good starting position in the Merc R1: Bad start but I got up to second, only Reggie in the Beemer beside me in second was faster so it was ok. Managed to stay with Reggie while he was saving tires but then he was gone when my tires starting to go. The rest of the race was pretty much a time in "no mans' land" with, in the end, 10 seconds to Reggie in 1st and 8 seconds to Dariusz in 3rd. But a 2nd, which I'm Deligted with R2: Terrific start, got up and went on the gravel to go around the outside of Andy and Ivan. Unfortunatly the heat of the moment got the better of me and I turned in to early and was sent round, holding up everyone Sorry for that chaps. Coming into T5 Scott got sideways ahead of me and the guys around me and I locked the brakes no knowing where to go and hit the rear of his vectra Coming past the corksctrew I got past Bill around the outside and took a wider line into the following corner, went in hot and was sent around Didn't loose too much time but ended up behind Ivan and we had a nice little battle before he made a small misstake and I got past. On lap 3 he had a better run into the corkscrew and I got into the rear under braking but kept the distance and just as we went over the turn-in crest he went around and I didn't know if it was my fault and I waited for him until the said "get going" and so I did. Caught up the Bill quickly and went past after a misstake of his, and so I did with Steve a lap later or earlier. Pitted early for the undercut and had a blasting run until I was in 8th and Brett came out just in front of me. Sorry for one or 2 taps I committed to but the racing was great so just wanted more and more. Finished 8th which I gotta be happy with after being down in 13th or 14th as the lowest in the race. Great racing tonight, sorry for the misstakes I did but I hope you aren't to angry with me

Steve Hoppitt 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 Division 2 Qual 1 Sitting around 1:38s and 1:39s in practice I managed to get it together for a low 1:37, but in qualifying all I could manage on the hotlap was a 1:38, so was around 6 seconds off the pole sitter, but at least managed to grid up 15th in a 20 car field. Race 1 I got a good start and actually had to pull right and go around several of the cars ahead. After making up around 5 or 6 spots I was forced out onto the gravel and had to yield to avoid a major incident, putting me at the back of the field (fortunately I don't use voice activation on TS). I pressed on, but was always going to play catchup after that. Prior to a scheduled stop on lap 12 I ran as high as 10th, before being swallowed up by the quick guys, and brought it home 15th, finishing where I started. Race 2 Straight to race 2 and again got a good start, but several of the guys ahead of me didn't and I lost a lot of momentum, so again struggled to get back onto the back of the pack, but managed to stick with the main pack for a while. I ran just outside the top 10 for a short while, then lost grip and just simply made sure I kept out of the way until the chequered flag, finishing 16th. RaulPereira 6 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 1st i have to say sorry for Race1 to the Portuguese m8 i hit on the straight (star)... we were all acelarating and i crash in his back. Sorry! Unfortunatly it wasnt a great race at all! I could get a greater result on the first round if it wasnt many unrespect "racing" aroud Laguna Seca. I know that this races are agressive and they are fast until the end! But, im not sure that braking in the rear of the oponents is the best idea for racing! agressive, ok! But respect in race attitude! I spin many, and i had my car damaged because of other unrespect "racers". This is not a war! Not worthy of a D1 this kind of driving! Very dissapointed with this racing attitude here!
Duarte Lopes 3 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 Raul, i'm that "Portuguese m8"...LoL, and i'm also the guy u push wide in the exit of T1 in the start of the 2nd race :/ I really see some kamikaze behaviours in the track, from some guys i expect to and from some i don't. Q: My best time ever here and a good (for me) 11th place... R1: After a decent start i have this "issue" with Raul and get almost last in the field, making the possible recover until P13 R2: Other decent start and after an incident in the Andretti Hairpin trying to get some positions when in the braking to the corkscrew had a big push and lost the corner, recovering again the position and a lap later someone try to enter by my driver door when i'm enter in the last turn, making me spun and lost another couple of positions In the top of the "cake" came the pitstop, when after i ask for pit and heard confirmation enter the box and stopped for 12sec instead of 7.7...bahh Waiting for Hungaroring...to see if my bad luck goes away... Ethan Bass 105 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 Well that was good and bad. This is not my favourite track to drive, but I was in the venerable Honda Accord so I knew it was going to be good to me, especially over a race distance. Quali: Do a 1:32.3xx which was my best time all week long, my quali pace is something I've not been good at for a while, not sure why cause I used to be really good at superpole laps, took pole in server 2 in Season 3 at Watkins with a lap that I think last time I checked would've been good enough for top 10 back then. So 14th was very good for me considering I was never able to get into the 31s. Race1: I'm sorry Lasse if your car got damaged when I rear-ended you into turn 1. I seemed to get a jump on everyone off the rolling start but in the heat of the moment, I didn't brake early enough. Sorry about that. It ruined my race as well cause I dropped myself right back down. Then a few laps later, I get hit into the corkscrew due to the concertina effect, where I braked where I wanted to, as hard as I wanted to but then harder due to a TAR car going a tad slower and I guess I took the TAR car behind by surprise. I then pitted too late really, lap 12 was just too late in order to get the most out of the fresh tyres out of the pit stop. I keep the car on the road and get it to the finish after jumping Lilley in the pits. Finish in 18th. Should've done better but that's how it is sometimes. Race2: Have a decent start, Jundt and Pereira got past off the standing start, but I get space around the outside of turn 1 to climb a place or two. Only to have Nelson then drive straight past me round the outside of the fast left hander before the kink. Then receive a tap from Jundt into the corkscrew, but it was more square on so it hurt Jundt more than it did me. Spent a good number of laps in 16th place after the first few laps had been done, following Ferreira, Borges and Nelson race together and was rather happy to see them peel off into the pits together on lap 8 as it gave me two laps to put in some really nice laps in proper clean air. Pit on lap 10 (after very much taking a glory "Lead a Lap" as the leaders pitted on lap 9) and resume in 13th, not too far back from Shepherd, Pereira and Swiderski. With fresh "Right Front" and "Right Rear" taken so that the balance of my car was kept more neutral in the Honda as the balance is the car's best strength in that it doesn't really eat tyres, or at least it never felt like that to me. So with better grip, I was able to catch Swiderski but it took a while for me to pass, Honda doesn't have the ouch of the Alfa and I had to wait for a mistake by Swiderski. Got him on lap 18 up the hill to the Corkscrew after he dipped into the sand. So starting 18th and finishing 12th was really good, just wish I had done something similar in race 1. Oh well. Pedro Amaral 143 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 REPORT - Really nothing to report unfortunatly... Qualy - Even though I messed up one corner and went a while on the gravel I managed to get pole. Race 1 -On the start I was passed by Reggie and Jonathan, as I expected. Managed to pass Jonathan while braking for the corkscrew and got disconected from the server just after that... I was very disapointed and I have to manage to motivate myself for next race. I am almost last on the championship...
Ray Lilley 140 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 For me it was a disaster form the first day of practice at the beginning of the week. Whatever I tried I could not prevent the nose wallowing. The car would just not sit. Turn in was sludgy. Front wheels bumping heavy under acceleration regardless and only eased when I reduced Diff-Lock to 10 and in game Throttle Sensitivity to 15%. Break pressure at 72% and in game Break Sensitivity to 15% helped reduce lock-up. Tyre wear was poor and best laps were often done on new tyres whatever pressures or alignment. Curious, I jumped in an Alfa and that car squatted on the road nicely from default? The car never felt this bad at Watkins so, I have no answer. Further more, I had raging toothache and worse still, I loaded the Watkins Glen database I made which stated a 12 laps race so, I short filled the tank. Duh!! Heading into lap 12 I gave up and DNF'd. Race 2? Same as race 1; hopeless and, last.

JackKeithley 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2012 Finally got my first ATCC win so glad that monkey is off my back now I didnt think things were gonna go so good again as I hadnt really tested enough tbh, but in practise i found something that gained me nearly half a second in low fuel trim so went with that in the Q session and got the pole by quite a bit. In the races though it was tough as the rear end is still not doing what i want it to do as the higher fuel load makes the car very lairy and I struggled to get away from Alex as I kept making mistakes and this allowed him to stay on my tail and eventually this led to some contact, albeit with no damage - managed to collect the car up and caught Simon and tbh I was in no mood to be second and seized on the first chance I had to get by as Simon ran a bit wide in T1 and that sealed the win so all sins forgiven Race 2 was a mess frankly - I got a decent getaway, but there was just nowhere to go so went to follow Simon but no room at the inn there either, decided to go on the outside and changed my mind just as quick and got into a blue Alfa which sent him off track and damaged my front end a bit, but he did a nice job to recover it and well sorry about that anyway just got so tight. Once we got sorted out I was running at the back of the train in 7th so i decided to pit early and see if I could get the undercut - didnt work out tbh as most guys pitted soon after and you really need 2-3 laps on nice warm tyres to make it pay, but it was worth a punt as I was going nowhere fast. Had some contact with a Honda (cant remember who it was) who hadnt pitted and I felt i had the corner as I had an overlap, but he tried to swing it in too early and he bounced off me and over the sand and lost some spots and cost me time too so not much chanced from that point to make up any more ground. Got lucky later on as two accidents ahead gifted me 3 positions which was a nice bonus. Happy overall as progress was made with the car which was a bonus given the testing time I put in - just need to get a better sleeping pattern sorted now
