Hello all :)

My name is Brad andI am currently living in Ireland and own a PS3 and a gaming pc.

I play under the name of Clunthoo on ps3 and mostly play F1 2010, WRC and GT5 with a G27 setup. As for pc, first person shooters mostly such as Battlefield.

I would love to do some leagues in gt5 some time. I'm not the best by far but I like to thing I understand racing lines and techniques.

I follow F1 closely and can't wait for the demo in Dublin next year :D

Hey there, i am amateur_sim_racer or that's the name i chose for here. Excuse the long post but i thought i'd give some background info on my sim racing history and racing favs.

I am a long time sim racer who started out racing via ...i guess it was playing Lombard RAC Rally on our family Amiga (500 or 1200? can't quite remember). I moved onto various PC games using the keyboard as i never had a joypad/joystick or wheel. I then moved onto Playstation 1 alongside PC and played many F1 games, Toca touring cars, Gran Turismo 1 and any others that came out.

During my playstation days i got my first wheel which was a Jordan F1 wheel (They were my fav f1 team back then) It was pretty basic but i loved it especially playing f1 games not that i was that good back then being fairly young at the time.

Before i moved onto my PS2 my father did get our first FFB wheel which was a Logitech Formula Force for PC (same one as the GT3 wheel except the PC variant). On that wheel we played Colin Mcrae games along with any others that came out at the time.

I then moved onto using the wheel with GT3 when i got a PS2 but switched to some PC games now and again GP4, F1 Challenge...etc

I now own a Xbox360 without wheel but have a DFP for PC sim racing and occasional PS2 racing for nostalgia. I currently play DiRT 3 and F1 2011 on the PC and Forza 3 on the 360.

I love F1 racing and i am a fan of the BTCC (British touring cars) but other than those two i don't watch much racing on TV unless its an interesting race.

My favourite track(s) are Monaco, Laguna Seca, Melbourne f1 track, Spa and silverstone.

Oh hai :D.

I've been playing racing games for a very long time, the first of which I think was NFS's special Road & Track edition.

Some of my more recent racing games that I've been playing are DiRT 3, TDU 2 (LOVE cruising), Shift 2, and Multi Theft Auto (a multiplayer mod for GTA: San Andreas, and depending on the server you play on, can provide for some real intense and run racing).

Lately, I've been wanting to get into sim racers, such as rFactor and iRacing. I'd give the rFactor 2 beta a try, but I'm not too sure about spending the $50~ to buy something that I've never played before. I'll probably give iRacing another go. I had a free 1-month subscription for it that I got in an IndyCar email several months back. It was really fun while it lasted.

My current PC is the following:

- 2600K @ 4.5GHz (CM Hyper 212+ cooler)

- 8GB G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 1600 (2x4GB)

- MSI GTX 560 Twin Frozr II/OC

- OCZ Vertex II 60GB SSD

- Seagate 1TB 7200RPM 6Gbps HDD

- MSI Z68A-GD80 (B3) mobo

- Thermaltake Armor A60 case

- Rosewill 750w PSU

As for my controllers, I use a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, as well as an almost 12-year-old Logitech Formula Force GP wheel & pedal set, which still works fine to this day.

90% of the time, I'm using my gamepad, and I'll occasionally get out the wheel to do some Shift 2 or long TDU 2 cruises.

I've been thinking about buying a Logitech G27 wheel/pedal/shifter set, but I'm still not too sure...

Hey Dukey, welcome to ISR. For the best online PC racing I would recommend iRacing.com, it is by far the best sim racing experience IMO.

hi everybody, my name is Henz and i am 22 year old (Henz is my surename, my prename is in english almost unpronounceable ;) ).

i live in switzerland... yeees, that coutry that produce a huge amount of choclate and some cheese ;)

about a 3/4 year ago i discovered INSIDE SIM RACING, and that was one of the greatest fortunes that ever happened for me.

my hobby are cars, almost for 10 years now, and i bought 2007 a xbox 360, forza2 and the microsoft xbox 360 wheel, then 2009 forza3, 2011 the fanatec gt2, clubsport's and forza4.

one week ago, i ordered an alienware x51 gaming pc. (http://www.alienware.com/Landings/desktops.aspx)

at the beginning of setting up my gaming pc with all the stuff, that i needed to simracing there are some problemes with the "optical disc drive". after the support from dell/alienware fixed that, and 36 houers ago something changed about my expierience of simracing.

I found out what simracing realy is... amazing

now i'm racing in race 07 with every official add-on that is available (race injection). and im realy exidet to get a better time every single lap.

thanks for al that work and movement on INSIDE SIMRACING.

ps: questions about switzerland or cars? :D just ask..

Hi, Ben Zenon a true geek :geek::ugeek:8-)

I bring VRX iMotion Simulators to the UK. Use mainly rFactor and iRacing, I think rFactor is top for D-Box experience whereas iRacing is clearer in NVIDIA 3D VIsion Surround.

My background is LAN gaming and systems integration, now effectively I'm a technical specialist for racing sims. I use top hardware (just have a look at the rigs) but that's only half of it. Each sim has to be set up right, and like race cars no two are the same. One of my guys had his steering angle set to 30 degrees for a Ferrari event last weekend it took some pursuading to get him to adjust it to a more 'accessible' level.... just because you can afford one, doesn't mean you can drive it

I apologise in advance for upsetting all of you with my controversial opinions

Hey there people :D

Dish from Melbourne, Australia here.

I'll soon put up a more detailed thread on my sim-rig that's still under construction, but here's a little background...

I first got into the world of racing sims back when Geoff Crammond's 'Grand Prix' was released for the PC. Yeah, showing my age LOL Before I knew it I was working occasionally with a local company called Hyper Stimulator. Some of you may know of their sim-rigs - they were leading edge at the time, and are still around. Worked with them over a period of about 3 years, and enjoyed every moment of it. In the late 90s I purchased a set of their controls and decided to make my own tub as I didn't really like theirs (sorry Jon, if you're reading this!).

Long story short, the computer I bought gave me nothing but headaches, so I mothballed the project... for 13 years! Fast forward to January 2012: my parents decide to sell their home and want me to retrieve my leftovers, sim bits included. Can't have it all sitting around in my current small home, so what better than to finish it off! So, that's what's happening now. Loads more to do with it, but it'll be epic once complete 8-)

A hell of a lot has happened in the world of sim racing over the last 13 years. I have loads to catch up on! Thanks to all involved, both the ISR team and the members of the online sim-community (here and elsewhere), for your added inspiration to get this 14 year project completed before it turns 15 hahaha

Here's a snap to show you where I'm currently at (with my friend getting a little ahead of himself LOL)

A more detailed build thread can be found here

Cheers, Dish.

Hey everyone

cK aka Crash King here

I'm from the RSA and have been following this show ever since my research for getting a wheel for my pc.

My gamertag is Ludificor and I'm a PC gamer (don't have any consoles)

I'm rather new to "sim racing". I've played many arcade style racing games but since my last pc upgrade when I went triple monitors and fired up my old copy of Nascar 2003 and I decided to ditch the joystick racing and get myself a proper wheel. I ended up getting myself a Logitech G27 and never looked back. Ever since the type of racing games and experience I'm looking at changed to be more of a realistic sim than arcade. Currently I'm playing Dirt 3 and have Shift 2 lined up as well.

Titles I'm looking forward to are GTR3 and Project CARS, unfortunately I'm not ready to commit to a subscription based sims just yet as I'm not a dedicated racing gamer but an all round gamer.

Short description of my hardware:

Intel i7 860 @4gHz

Ati 5850 @ 890/1150

8GB DDR3 ram

Watercooled

3x 22" LG LCD's @ 5292x1050

Logitech G27

I've also just recently reverse mounted my pedals and must say I was surprised at the positive feel and confidence boost it gave me right of the bat. Anyways here is a shot or two of my setup that is still WIP as I'm starting to get more into sim racing. I'll probably do a build / mod post of my setup / rig to be sometime as well, anyways until then happy racing.

Hi my name is Martin from Germany and i'm 31. I started sim racing last year and it was much fun. It isn't really a replace to a real racetrack (i was 2 times in Hockenheim with my motorcycle) but it's much fun, too. The bad thing is that i drive quite irregular so i it's difficult to get better and drive in a league.

At the moment I play grid, Dirt, lfs, rfactor and i'm waiting for the final of rfactor 2 and cars.

I have a Fanatec Carrera, the CSR Elite Pedals and a triple-tft setup:

Hey everyone, my name is Heath Hanson. I've dabbled in simracing for a long time but really have never committed to it. Now I'm ready to really give it a go. I just need to save money and get some quality gear.

I am a father of two boys and have been married for 10 1/2 years...those of you who are in my boat know how tough it is to save money.

I really don't know how I found this site but I come here often for reviews and of course the web shows. Thanks for all you guys do and I'm looking forward to posting/viewing more here for quite some time.

Hello everyone!

My name is Chris, I'm 18, and I live in New Hampshire, USA.

I have been console racing for a couple of years now, mostly with gt3,gt4, and recently gt5.

Luckily, since I'm headed to college next year, I now own a PC that can actually run programs other than Microsoft office. lol

Any who, after watching many episodes on this wonderful site, I decided to get my feet wet with Richard Burns rally.

What a great decision that was! I'm hooked, and have since added the race series to my collection.

At this point I race PC and PS3 about 50/50 with a DFGT my dad bought a while back.

I would just like to say that you guys do a wonderful job with this website and show. It is an incredible resource to have as an aspiring sim racer.

Many thanks from me.

Gidday all. Neil Cook, Australian, 54 years of age and getting younger by the week. iRacing week that is.

Married, three grownup off-spring, live in Brisbane, Queensland and only discovered iRacing in May 2012. Finally.....my chance to be a motorsport supremo.....if only.

I get a real buzz out of the simulation and really enjoy the Inside Sim Racing videos & website. Glad to see that both Darin & Sean are off to smell the synthetic oil in a less busy part of the world and get more into enjoying life in the slightly slower lane. Half your luck guys! Pity about Jessica though. We'll all miss her.

Anyhow, that's me, for what it's worth.

Hi all - name's Rob but I also go by Barney (don't ask). Old noobie! Was heavy in to sim racing during the golden Papy days - even won myself a league championship! But three kids later... moved to the country-no high speed :( , only hockey :D (Canadian eh?). Flash forward nine years and we are back in the city! Been slowly building myself a cutting edge PC when parts go on sale and now about to build a G27 based gaming rig, with any luck I'll be back online soon trading paint with some of youse fellas!
