Is there any A.I available ?

Hi all i'm new to the board and A complete newbie to sim racing. i have installed Netkar pro and have to say i'm very impressed. thing is as i say i am new to sim racing and quite old to boot as well (nudging 50!). and as i am so inexperienced i was wondering if netKar had any A.I at all.

I am proving quite good at falling off the track at the moment so i know i am not ready to join a public server and join a race as i will be nothing more than a mobile road block.

Thing is at the moment it's quite lonely practising on my own and it would be quite nice to drive against some A.I (that way i can fall off the track and not get moaned at) so does netKar have any hidden A.I or is there any downloadable content?

Must admit i am very impressed with it so far and for the current price it is an absolute steal, just wish i had some cars to overtake (ok i so i realy mean to be overtaken by! ).

As far as I know there is not any AI in NetKar Pro...I am also impressed with this sim as well and also , as you say (nudging 50!)... there is downloadable content for NetKar, Tracks etc. at this site http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/inde ... &showcat=5

I have found these other sims to be good...

1/ 'iRacing'...go into a race / practice as a spectator, you are on the track with other racers, you see them and can interact but they can not see you, so you do not crash into any other racers but you can crash into walls, spin off and still damage your own car, and still have that human company...nice feature.

2/ Simbin titles - 'Race Injection'...I have found the AI in this and other Simbin titles to be very good, almost human like...almost...and you do not have to worry about saying 'sorry about that'...lol

Thanks for the reply Old Timer much appreciated. i will have a look at the options you have listed. It's a real shame there is no A.I available to prctice with in netKar pro as it is a very impresive piece of work for the money. I installed a few extra tracks and skins today and Imolla 2011 and Monaco are fantastic.

flooring the throttle out of the last bend in Imolla and buzzing up the gears along the main straight really gets you going although trying to stop in time for the first bend is a real heart stopper. its amazing just how immersed you can become in this.

I have to agree about it being a shame that there was no AI for this sim.

I think having that AI would have attracted more simmers and made Kunos a lot more money than they(probably) made for Netkar.

To be honest it was the main reason I never originally bought this sim as I have never really got into the concept of online racing for a couple of reasons

 

Never mind though, at least Assetto will be putting things right.
