zenxenz 2 Report post Posted December 15, 2011 I have some strange wobble in the wheel of my G27. Its not a wobble in the FFB but more inside the wheels housing, so i can sort of push and pull the wheel front and back and its very annoying when racing and you feel it like a "clunk" in the wheel if you accidently pull on it (wich i apperantly do sometimes, damn immersion hehe). is there a way to fix this? If im not very clear in my description of the problem i apoligise and if you dont understand let me know and ill put up a video of what i mean.

s4cral 3 Report post Posted April 28, 2012 Hi Both the G25 and the G27 suffer from this problem. Its usually a result of the internal plastic housing which holds the main front bearing cracking. This then can also allow the rear bearing to move away from the backing plate and the small metal tabs that help locate it resulting in lateral movement too. If you pickup the whole steering wheel and give it a shake and it subsequently rattles then you can be fairly sure thats what the problem is. I had a brand new G25 which broke after 2 weeks of fairly constant use playing Dirt2. I just drilled the support fins close to the main front bearing and lashed it together with plastic ties, then shaped a piece of metal and screwed that on the front to stop end play. I also drilled all the ends of the cracks in the housing to stop them from spreading. This fault typically occurs due to excess force applied to the wheel when driving. maxrod 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2013 I have had two of these wheels do this crack the housing, I find it hard to believe that you cannot get parts for these it would be good to see some sort of metal housing, I used a soldering iron and welded the crack works great, But i do believe we should be-able to get parts for these wheels.
