DFP mounting suggestion, desk is just too thick for clamps

3 posts in this topic

I finally got the power adapter for my Logitech DFP wheel and immediately wanted to plug it to test it worked and maybe have a quick rally race in DiRT 3.

Anyway as i went to clamp it to my brand new desk i noticed it was just a bit too thick for the wheel to slide into and that was with the clamp extended as much as it could.

So any idea's on how i can mount this wheel? Using any screw/bolting methods is out of the question as this is my everyday desk and i don't want to start drilling holes or whatever into it when i am not going to be using the wheel everyday.

Cheers

I answered my own question.

After looking at the clamps closer i noticed the bits that grip to the under side of your desk were movable to some degree and i found out that they come off easily leaving the clamp smaller and able to fit onto my desk. I'm guessing it's meant to be like that for situations like mine since there is still ridged area's when you take the bits off.

I can finally now use my wheel for some Sim racing :D

good to hear you figured it out! Without the little picture manual many people are unaware that those bits on 'L' clamp can come off to use the wheel on thicker desks.
