Forza 3, I need advice on how to get a good launch

5 posts in this topic

I need advice on how to get a good launch off the line in Forza 3. I am using standard controller and have all assists off, except I usually turn off the clutch when in A class and above.

I assume you want to minimize wheel spin. I usually gun it off the line and then back off on the throttle until the wheel spin stops, then gradually increase. When it comes to gears, do I just base my changes on RPM or is there more to take into account than this ?

Go easy on me, any help much appreciated.

i'd say launch at half throttle or so, then once you have some momentum you can put the pedal to the metal. the car itself, meaning how powerful it is and what kind of tires it has on it of course will decide how much throttle you can apply off the line. the best start would have no wheel spin, just on the edge of it. just look at drag racers, they aim for no wheel spin.

If you're drag racing, you can even try starting in 2nd gear.
