Shaun Cole 10 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Codemasters showed up to E3 this year behind closed doors. Despite letting us and many others see and drive the sim they could not show it to the public yet until Formula One had approved every detail. We did get a chance to drive the new physics and hear about many new features that we could talk about. Also Shaun was able to interview Paul Jeal and Stephen Hood to talk about F1 2011. This includes what will be new and some of the hurdles that they have climbed from the 2010 version of the game.

Paul H 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2011 Yet anither insightful and exciting interview. Thanks guys. I do like the way the Codemasters team are committed to developing a realistic but fun F1 title. Unlike the Forza 4 interview, they were at pains to explain the work done on improving FFB, wheel compatibility and lag issues, physics and so forth. I felt they shared more passion for the core sim values compared with the Forza team who I suspect are compromised by the current 'drive' towards inclusivity. However, both titles have developed online racing to a high degree. I think this is something i will be checking out when the games become available. I love F1 2010 and if this is an improvement then there is much to look forward to. Regards, Paul
Crafty Fox 17 Report post Posted June 24, 2011 Good interview and enjoyed this. They come across as really nice guys as well. I will say that I followed F1 2010 development on a set of forums with eagerness and belief it would be really good. Their was quite a lot of moaning going on when it was announced that Codemasters got the licensce and I defended Codemasters knowing they did produce quality titles but also leading graphics and were more than capable of producing a game as well as past studios having the licensce. However lets not beat around the bush, F1 2010 was released to meet a deadline/announced date not released when it was finished or had been properly playtested. A Bafta for best sports game you say guys, well it was a TOTAL SHAMBLES with serious gameplay bugs and obvious lack of "Quality Control". I do not think the community will accept that level of "We Will Fix it Later" type attitude again and if the team behind Dirt 3 can produce quite a spectactular and well polished title then we should expect the same from this Codemasters studio for F1 2011. Personally for me I traded in my F1 2010 game long before the patch arrived as the AI and Pit bugs were unnacceptable. Never rebought it because it was obvious the patch still did not address all the issues being discussed on forums. Sorry but quite a lot of us F1 fans love our sport and are fussy, we want things to be right. Not have a car sitting in the pits for ages for no reason, not having an AI car all of a sudden much faster and with the AI car on the wrong tyres. For me buying F1 2011 will depend on reviews that take the problems with 2010 on board and highlight if this years game has major gameplaying flaws. As Codemasters have stated here they have had more time and a previous base to work from so I feel this wont be the case and rather than be completely negative I still think they can produce the goods this time around. MarcusarilliuS_IRL 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2011 Good interview guys. Was expecting you to ask about the faked laptimes of the ai in 2010 and if this has been fixed for 2011 though? The co-op feature sounds like it could be good fun and the graphics are looking really nice from the screenshots so far.
Benmastaw00t 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2011 I couldn't be more excited for F1 2011. I loved the 2010 title on the X360, and enjoyed it even more with just the X360 wheel!
