NAGP Season 34 Opens with Round One at Interlagos in the Lotus '79

North American Grand Prix roars back to life this week with the start of season XXXIV beginning this evening with round one of the Monday night open wheel series at Interlagos.

Several big changes are in store for this upcoming season in open wheel beginning with the car. The series shifts from the '67 Ferrari 312 and into the more powerful and aerodynamic Lotus '79. In addition to the new car, the series will visit several new circuits for the first time including the 1979 version of the Oesterreichring as well as tonight's 1975 layout of Interlagos.

The green flag waves tonight at 9pm eastern starting with 25 minutes of open qualifying followed immediately after by the 200km race. As we always do on Monday and Thursday night's, the races are broadcast live on NAGPTV with replays of the race broadcast available on YouTube following the event.

The drivers are prepared and ready to get another action filled season under way.
