Unfortunately they can't sell me my pre-ordered LE copy until Friday :-( oh well, just 2 more days, will go in before work to pick it up, then maybe call in sick.......lol.....being at work will be excruciating?

nah, only in Japan is it released tomorrow, Friday is UK\Australia and by me (South Africa), then next week Tueday in USA.

I dont know why they have seperate release dates in different countries and I really dont understand why the USA has the last release date, surely I would expect it to be released there first?

Anyone know why?

Not trolling here. And i do agree that these release dates are bit weird. But why do you feel the usa should get the game first?

Well, I think the fan base is much more in the States and secondly, it is a US developed game, why let your fellow country men wait for a game that has being released everywhere else in the world.

Not sure about the fanbase. According to this article:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/forza-motorsport-3-hands-on?page=2

Interestingly, Turn 10 was happy to admit that Forza sells better in Europe than the US - and bearing in mind that Xbox 360 has a much stronger presence in the UK than the rest of Europe, it doesn't take a genius to figure out why Microsoft was taking such pains to present the game to British press at E3. We are the market for Forza; from the clean UI to the cultured tones of the Peter Egan voiceover, they made it just for us - a bespoke, coach-built racing simulator.

But i agree it's silly to spread the release. It's the same bloody game.

They have to wait in the states because new media (ie. Movies, videogames, cd's, etc...) only come out, or are "released" on Tuesdays. Do not ask my as to why that is here in America, but that is just how it works, I think it has something to do with sales numbers and calculations or something, anyways, this is why we tend to get things a week or so after other countries

mostly before though ;)

Not usually, typically Asian Countries get things first because the market is greater. Their cultures are much more involved in video games and entertainment than even ours is.

This is why even certain movies come out there first. Japan had Transformers 2 almost 3 months before America did, because they are gonzo over transformers.

Oh no, far FAR more games are sold in the US than anywhere else in the world. The US alone accounts for a bit over 50% of all video game spending in the world -- Japan is fully 75% less. The US spends 50% more than the entirety of the Asian continent. And the VAST majority of titles are released in the US first.

The only titles that see release elsewhere first are those that are developed by very Japanese-centric dev houses; like Square-Enix, Konami, and of course Polyphony Digital. Many of which won't even see release in the US. In Europe, it is common for PC titles that are developed and published there to get release prior to other regions, but not so much on the console side of things.

It's not the raw numbers, it is the per capita, there are still many areas of our country that do not play video games or even have high speed internet, where as even the far reaches of the most rural areas in Japan has it. Hell, you can be on a bullet train in Japan, going 200mph and STILL have high speed Internet, yet here in the states we drop simple cell phone calls every 3 feet.

Japan's culture revolves around media and communications, this is why Marketing in Japan is always more sought after than even in the states. We might have the lions share of the market, but judging a game as successful or not is always compared to how well it fares in Japan (and other asian countries). We get more games and more content than any other country because our ratings and content policies are so much more lax and "bendable" than other countries. Just because we have the most doesn't mean we are the most important.
