The North American Grand Prix Thursday night GT series travels to South America this evening for round eleven of the championship at Interlagos in Brazil.

Eiran Parsons powered his Nissan GTR to his second win of the season last week at Okayama in a race that was unfortunately shortened due to some unforeseen technical issues. The race, scheduled for 54 laps, was shortened to 33 laps after the race was called official after going beyond the halfway mark. Parsons, who qualified second behind pole sitter Peter Szabo in the McLaren, played follow the leader behind Szabo for 27 laps, as the two ran in lockstep for the duration of the entire first stint. Szabo, upon entering the pits, overshot his pit box losing valuable time. This mistake allowed Parsons to rejoin the race ahead of Szabo and ultimately earn Parsons the win once the race was called. The mistake by Szabo proved costly as his opportunity at taking over the drivers championship lead ahead of Kevin Kirkbride vanished leaving Szabo one point behind the leader and no doubt frustrated by his mistake. Zack Hefner in the Lamborghini, after a long and arduous fight with Chris Moses in the Nissan, got around Moses on lap 31 to take the last step on the podium.

After ten rounds, Kevin Kirkbride holds the slimmest of leads over Peter Szabo as one point separates the two drivers 161 to 160. In third, Zack Hefner's 153 points remains a viable threat to repeat as GT champion.

Kevin Kirkbride and Zack Hefner of Podium Hunters continue to lead over RPM Extreme's Peter Szabo and Salem Montgomery Jr. in the team championship 314 to 269. Precision Motor Racing's Chris Moses and Eiran Parsons are a distant third with 204 points.
