The Monday night league travels to Belgium this evening to take on the challenging 1966 layout of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this week in North American Grand Prix's historic 1967 Ferrari 312 open wheel championship.

Zack Hefner survived the challenge of Zandvoort last week to earn him his first open wheel win in a race mired with early retirements. Pole sitter and the winner of the first two rounds, Philippe Simard, made an unforced error from the lead at the start of lap two which forced him into the pits early for repairs. Simard's teammate, Ian Jolicoeur, took over the lead of the race which he held until lap 26 when Jolicoeur entered the pits for his scheduled stop. Hefner, who was nearly three seconds behind Jolicoeur, took over the lead of the race at that point. By the time Hefner entered the pits for his only stop on lap 36 from the lead, an eye popping fifteen drivers managed to see their races end early within the first 28 laps of the race. Despite the bevy of retirements, Hefner maintained great pace and his decision to pit late into the race proved to be a race winning call. Hefner, after a quick stop for fuel, rejoined with a nearly eight second cushion over Jolicoeur. Hefner managed to keep his car out of trouble and cruised home to take the checkered flag five seconds ahead of second place Jolicoeur. Championship leader Kevin Kirkbride finished third on the final step of the podium.

After four rounds, Kevin Kirkbride leads the drivers championship with 83 points. His teammate, Zack Hefner jumps to second after last weeks win with 71 points. Ian Jolicoeur is third with 63 points.

In the team championship, Podium Hunters Kevin Kirkbride and Zack Hefner are building a sizeable gap over their competitors with 154 points. The French Connection's Ian Jolicoeur and Philippe Simard are second with 116 points. Captain Clutch Racing's Matt Taylor and Marc DeGras sit third with 70 points.
