• Battersea Compound – Parking Lot environment updated to ensure that smash blocks are always present.

• Resolved specific instances of the player being able to drive into areas of crowd.

• Corrected a rare issue with online staggered start team events which could lead to incorrect team scoring.

• Resolved an issue preventing Player 2 from re-binding their controls if using a keyboard within a split-screen event.

• Fixed an issue which, in specific circumstances, could lead to a spectator seeing incorrect progress during a multiplayer Transporter event.

• Minor corrections to track boundary and reset lines.

• ‘World Record’ and ‘Personal Best’ symbols now correctly appear within all circuit-based time trial events.

• Correction to particle behaviour during high speed collisions, avoiding any instances of them spawning in the wrong direction.

• Fixed an issue which lead to the driver’s hands clipping when in the interior camera ‘brace’ position.

• Resolved an issue which would occasionally prevent the ‘World Tour’ tetras from spinning within the front end.

• Resolved an issue which could lead to some vehicle cards flickering within the front end vehicle select screens.

• Adjusted a small number of text references and menu options for the ‘VIP Pack’, which should be referred to as the ‘Free Car Pack’ for PC.

• Various stability fixes.

I know you like it and will give a great review, but for people who paid for this the game still sucks

Physics are boring, and the FFB is very bad (it's just vibration).

Graphics are beautifull, but with no cool effects

A couple of questions,

1) I have the game on steam for PC. How do I get the update?

2) Anyone have a decent setup for the T500?, I too think the physics stink for this game but I'm thinking maybe a better setup might alleviate the serious deadzone. I've seen 75 seat buses handle better.

Hummm....?I have the "PS3" Version [DFGT] and there is NO Deadzone at all man,and though I do like the Handling/physics of "DIRT 2" perhaps a wee bit better,"DIRT 3"'s Cars Drive stellar, and the overall handling of ALL the cars is top notch!and Im running the "Default" Wheel setup with all aids turned off,and the difficulty on the hardest setting, and honestly am LOVING "DIRT 3" BIGtime!

thats really too bad you have one of the sweetest wheels on the market, and cannot find a decent setup for it my friend, hope all yer problems are solved with the update ;) Best of luck mac8,cheers and gr8 racing to all.

I also got this from Steam, I haven't fired up Dirt3 in over a week, 1st off, annoying to have to setup my wheel every time I start the game since mine doesn't seem to save my wheel settings and button mappings so I gave up on it until they fix this issue, I don't know about the update, chances are the update will come from Windows Live instead of Steam.

As for the dead zone, on my Fanatec GT2, I had to dial in a little dead zone, I still don't have it dialed in perfect but had it not too bad, it was a combination of the in game wheel settings and those on the wheel itself. Dirt2 didn't have this problem, was much easier to dial in the wheel and pedals and it would even save the settings.

So until they fix this, I have no interest in Dirt 3.

Take care

Jack, to get the game saving your setup, dont use your keyboard to navigate the game, use only your wheel (this is when you open the game again). This will make the wheel remember the settings from your last time your raced. After 1 race you can begin using your keyboard :)

You should be notified of the patch through Games for Windows Live when you start up Dirt 3. GFWL should notify, then download the update while still in the Dirt 3 load screen/menu, then the game will shut down, the patch applied, then the game will restart after installation.

Hi Alloc.

Thank you for the tip, I'll try that next time I fire up Dirt 3, how do you navigate the menus with the wheel? LOL

Kinda strange you have to use workarounds to get this to work properly. *shrug*

Again, thanks for the tip. :)

Take care

And that equates to the PC version and T500 exactly how?

well "Mac8" from what Ive been reading, the "PS3","X-BOX" and "PC" Versions of "DIRT 3" are pretty much exactly the same game,I suppose I found it ummm..Interesting, that you think the Physics "Stink" and that you wrote "I've seen 75 seat buses handle Better" ~especially because you are using "T-500" which is a really nice wheel, and also a very expensive wheel, also you are playing the "PC" version, which correct me if I am wrong, has a lot more options as far as wheel settings right? guess I was just really surprised to see you were having such a tough time with "DIRT 3" and that you think the physics "Stink",I think the physics in "DIRT 3" are Spot on,and the cars handle VERY well, and have had no problems at all with "Deadzone" and like I said I am playing the "PS3" Version with my $70 "DFGT" and using the "Default" wheel settings~so in closing I would say this "equates" to me just trying to make a point..an Observation perhaps~that maybe the T-500's are a bit twitchy with some titles, that the simple "Plug N Play" of the "PS3" can be very nice at times, and that no matter how kickass a racing title is,there are always gonna be some folks who just dont like it

Steam did it automatically for us. No Keystrokes or anything. Most likely you already have it...?

I'm still wondering how does one get this patch? I went to Codemasters web site, they talk about it. That's about it. Tried to register there but that's down so can't register. Anyone ...

Find the Dirt 3 folder in your Steam folder (probably will be under .../SteamApps/common though that's just a guess as I bought my copy through Direct2Drive), right click on the dirt3_game.exe file and choose 'Properties'. The 'File Version' and 'Product Version' should say 1.1.0.0 if the patch has been applied.

Dirt 3 1.02 update

Resolved an issue which could prevent the user successfully saving with profiles that contained unicode characters.

UI elements are no longer incorrectly displayed in Gymkhana

Improvements to input system, supporting multi-device action maps. The user can now set button configurations to span multiple devices; previously a bug would cause these settings to be lost upon game restart.

Corrected various spelling mistakes across all languages

Reset line corrections to prevent potential ‘out of world’ or ‘driving into crowd’ issues on several tracks

Corrected an issue which could, in rare circumstances, prevent the display from rendering in the event of 16xCSAA being selected.

Steering wheel no longer jolts to the left in the race reward screen

Removed an incorrect limitation which could cause VSync to lock the refresh rate to 60Hz on a 120Hz system.

Physics output to motion simulators is now correctly faded out at the end of a race, preventing some situations within which motion would continue after crossing the finish line.

Adjusted head camera configuration to avoid excessive vibration effects when VSync is disabled.

Front end menu improvements for multi-display systems, correcting a small number of visibility issues.

Improvements to GPU detection, correcting a potential issue which in some circumstances could prevent SLI scaling operating correctly with DirectX 11.

Implemented native stereoscopic support for compatible devices.

Inclusion of a benchmarking utility, simplifying the process of gathering performance statistics.

Various stability fixes.

Finally!
