Funkl3 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 SIMRACINGNATION.COM is proud to announce the return of it's newest iRacing series, the SIMRACINGNATION.COM CASCAR series. For those of you who are unfamiliar with CASCAR, it was Canada's version of NASCAR, which started back in 1981. Where NASCAR focused mainly on oval racing with a few road courses, CASCAR, was closer to a 50/50 balance between the two. The ovals were mainly short tracks and the road course were anything from permanent road courses, temporary road courses and street courses. Without question the Late Model would be an excellent fit for this series as it is right at home on ovals as it is on road courses, as it's tough as nails and fun as hell to drive. This season we have $75 in iRacing credits up for grabs in prizes. There will be $25 given to the person who finishes 1st overall in the points standings, $15 to 2nd overall, and $10 to 3rd overall. For anyone who has complete at least six races of the SRN CASCAR 2011b season, their name will be entered in to a random draw for $25 in iRacing credits. We have tried to include as many of the base tracks that come with iRacing to keep this series open to as many people as possible. All non base content tracks are the responsibility of each racer to purchase. Races will be on Thursday nights starting May 12th. Practice lobby opens at 8EST, 2 lap qualifier (road courses), 3 lap qualifier (oval courses) starts at 10EST, and the race right after that. A password will be required to enter the race that can be found at SIMRACINGNATION.COM in the forum section. There will be one (1) fast tow available during the race. There will also be one (1) mandatory pitstop during each race. On the oval courses, this mandatory pitstop can be done during full course yellows or during green flag racing. The races will be a rolling starts for the ovals and standing starts for the road courses. There will be full course cautions for the ovals only. A working microphone is required, as we encourage courteous racing/passing. Non related race chatter should be kept to the practice lobby and post race. Horse play, disrespect, and retaliation are not welcome here. We have a challenge system in place, so please use it if you feel that you were wronged, DO NOT argue about an incident in race. Arguing during the race will not be tolerated. 5/12 Week 1: Lime Rock (Full) 1.53 miles - 45 laps 5/19 Week 2: Lanier National Oval .375 miles - 150 Laps 5/26 Week 3: Watkins Glen (Classic Course) 2.45 miles - 40 laps 6/02 Week 4: Thompson Speedway Oval .625 miles - 120 Laps 6/09 Week 5: Okayama International Circuit 2.30 miles - 25 laps ----Mid-Season Break---- 6/23 Week 6: Dover International Speedway 1.0 miles - 120 laps 6/30 Week 7: Summit Point Motorsports Park 1.98 miles - 40 laps 7/07 Week 8: Sobo 0.4 mile - 150 laps 7/14 Week 9: Concord Speedway 0.5 mile - 120 laps 7/21 Week 10: Mosport International Raceway 2.459 miles - 25 laps Since this is a 10 week schedule you will only be able to drop 2 worst races towards final series standings.
