Zin5ki 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 With all assists off and a high powered rwd car forza can be quite a handfull, it's no iracing but it's not as tame as some may suggest. Intriguing. I presume I'll be "exposed" to the driving mechanics to a greater degree when handling the racing-class vehicles. This suits me well: I plan to focus primarily upon experiencing the GT and LMP vehicles, along with some of the road-going models upgraded to such categories. Darin Gangi 1,074 Report post Posted January 17, 2011 I think FM 3 can be quiet a challenge especially with tire wear on in a long race.. We ran a fun race here through the forums and had two groups of 8 run and then a final.. We had a blast and you had to save your car.. Only problem with an XBox is the lack of wheels.. GT2 is awesome, but $250 for the wheel alone. I personally love GT5 and think it's got better physics and FFB than FM3. It's not as good as iRacing, but some cars are really REALLY fun to drive. So are a lot of their tracks. You can't go wrong with either..
Zin5ki 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2011 Hello again. I've been enjoying Forza for a few days now. Oversteer is indeed hard to come by outside of the higher echelons of the R-class vehicles, though I've yet to encounter any lift-off oversteer whatsoever. (My compatible racing wheel has yet to arrive in the post, so I currently have to make do with the forced understeer induced by the gamepad steering assist.) Are there any vehicles within the game in which I might encounter a notable amount of lift-off oversteer?

Are there any vehicles within the game in which I might encounter a notable amount of lift-off oversteer? That's probably why you have not found any lift off oversteer cars playing around in the R class. Try a ford fiesta in stock form. It has a lot off lift off oversteer. A lot of the FF cars do. I have been getting back into playing forza lately. Also visit forzamotorsport.net forums for a lot of info from players and Turn10. There are a couple good setup calculators footing around the net to help in setting the suspension to a good balance. If you need any help with the game or just want to race my gamer tag is my name here. Send me a invite some time
starfox550 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 Fortunately enough, such a feature apparently exists. I have read that it is possible to create a private "single-player multiplayer" race against 7 AI cars, for which one can manipulate the settings to give the human player a grip handicap without affecting the AI's driving ability. If the default traction settings are too forgiving for my tastes, I could always do this little trick to give the oversteer a little more bite during private sessions. I have found lift-off oversteer a bit lacking in some of the cars I thought would be killers, especially the MR cars..... but may I suggest you try these. 2005 Porsche #3 Lechner Racing 911 GT3 Cup Lotus 2-Eleven 2003 Mini Cooper S (Not the "Works" version) Yes it's definitely possible to have those modified grip settings if you wish, If fact Turn10 has a newly introduced public lobby with such a setting. _______________________________________________ Class: A Drivetrain: RWD only Force Suggested line: Off Damage difficulty: Simulation Collision Mode: Always On Race Length: 15 minutes Force Autobrake off: Yes Force ABS Off: yes Force STM Off: yes Force TCS Off: yes Rear grip handicap -20% _______________________________________________ You can find get to it at: Find race>Turn 10 select [NEW]>RWD A-Class Expert The lobby is aimed towards those that are after a more purer racing FM3 multiplayer experience. I suggest anybody not keen on AWD go check it out, it needs some support as we only have it for two weeks, if the numbers are seen to be high T10 may look at keeping it, or at least a variation of class or rules I.e MR, FR, FF cars only. The lobby attracts the more serious guys, there is some good racing to be had there. The -20% rear grip means you really need to posses cornering skills while keeping the throttle in check. Zin5ki 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 Gratitude where it's due for all the advice. News of the expert lobby is quite tantalising. It would be desirable in future updates or additions to the franchise for grip handicaps to be integrated, on a completely optional basis, into the single-player mode. Still, at least there are certain vehicles that misbehave without agitation. Upgrading a road-going car to racing class often brings about handling dynamics of a more aggressive ilk. starfox550 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 Hey Zin5ki It does also appear that all the R-class cars are set-up for a "safer" understeer approach, maybe with some suspension and Differential fine tuning you may be able to tune in some lift-off oversteer to your personal taste.
