FCONE 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Never had an issue, been running with the extended FOV for a long time now. I tried about 6 different settings before I found what I wanted and I do not recall any lock up.
Paradox 92 Report post Posted February 20, 2010 I personally rarely ever use the matchmaking system for any game I play. Forza, espescially, is alot of fun for organized league races. For example, spec races, where everyone drives the same make/model/build and each driver can dial in settings like tire pressure, brake pressure, spring stiffness, etc. I've been involved in several events over the years since Forza 1 on the original Xbox and have really enjoyed each release since by playing only with those I've gotten to know through an enthusiast site like this one. I've had very few satisfying races when playing against the public. I use Xbox Live for which it is truly intended. Build a friends list, and play with them. So while I keep hearing about all these glitches and cheating going on, I'm still online racing with my good friends and having a great time. After all, its just a game. If you get frustrated with it perhaps its not for you and move on.
FCONE 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 90% of my friends list plays Modern Warfare 2. Every night. It really is a sickness I tried the matchmaking the night before last and ended up in a room in about 2 min and played for an hour and a half. It was just as clean as a Rookie or D class race in iRacing. My goodness the Audi S5 is a popular car! I think I need to find an assists off league and try more Forza. Paradox 92 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 Dont see many posts much anymore about my favorite title. The DLC this year for F3 has been a little disappointing, but there have been some nice additions...such as the Nurburgring GP circuit (full and short), and there are some nice cars in the car packs. In the Exotic Car Pack (released 5/11/10), they added new manufacturers to the lineup like Mosler, Radical, Joss, and SSC..those are also my faves for that pack as well! Also these DLC packs are all priced at 400 Micorsoft points, which is $4.99US. I find that reasonable for a 10-car pack or for a nicely done track. Nurburgring GP was done in great detail IMO with natural bumps, great lighting, environment sounds, and nice visual detail. So if youre holding off getting any DLC for F3 because you think youre not getting much, youre wrong. The decent content is worth the 400 points alone! Try a stock R3 #45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 on the GP circuit and you will understand
wchelwig 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 I am a new sim racer just getting started with Forza 3 and seem to recall seeing a thread somewhere on this website about slow load times for Forza 3 s/w and the workaround being installing to disk. There are 2 discs with Forza, the play disc and content install disc. I have the XBox 360 Elite and am assuming just the content disc gets installed to the hard drive. In this setup, the menus for loading cars and tracks still load slow. Is there anything more I can do to improve the load times?
pyquila 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 You can install both disks on the HD. Still won't improve your loading times that much. But at least your xbox is not so loud anymore. Can't find a really good guide. Basicly put in disk 1. That asks for if you want to install disk2. Install disk2, then from the xbox menu install disk1 like you would do with a normal game you want to install on the HD. Wilko 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2010 New here, but have been playing Forza since FM1 on the Xbox. FM3 is amazing. The tracks are well done and the cars are great. Are there any easy to follow tunning guides that can help me understand what I am doing? I haven't been that much of a tunner and I am trying to change that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Not much of a tuner myself, but I'm finding that much of building a good car for the class you are aiming for is parts choice alongside learning the cars strengths and weaknesses and building on those. Another good tip is rather than hotlapping to test your tune, setting up a private race for a few laps, enough to heat your tyres to the right temp and set a good lap, when you finish you get paid for it. money can be spent on more parts saving the private race setup will save time when, re-starting the race the next time round A good site and message board I've found is...... Although quiet at the moment there is good info to be found here Site............................http://diy-racetuning.net/ Message board................http://diybb.dennisl.org/index.php Also A thread from the official Forza Motorsport forums forzamotorsport.net tuning guide on tuning

peegee_de 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 Hi, need your help on the following problem and hope someone could help me... My problem is that the steering in Forza 3 seems to react very slow. Now i dont know if that is a problem with my Hardware (PAD) or a problem with my settings in FORZA 3. Maybe my PAD is used to much (2 years old) ?? I dont know a way to test it? Or can i change the settings in FORZA 3 or the XBOX 360 to become a faster steering ?? Sometimes it looks like the steering is reacting in slow-motion. The wheel is turning when i am already find myself in the gravelbed. Specially in tight corners it is very hard to stay on the track... So i hope that someone of you could please help me Thank you in forward Peter

Try a different controller first, but if you still have the issue, try this..from the Main Menu, select My Profile -> Controller -> (X) for Advanced -> (Y) to reset defaults. If you still have the issue after that, its probably the xbox about to give up. Hope this helps.
peegee_de 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 Hi MrParadoX, thank you for your reply.... I will try that out. Hopefully it will be just the settings... The effect ist ONLY on quick steering movements. Everything else is working fine. The steering wheel (what you see in the cockpit) is just moving to slowly to the desired radius... If it was not there it would be almost impossible to drive and car smoothly. Try rFactor with a controller without any assists and you will see what I mean (I think it's called speed sensitive steering or similar). If you want to steer if FM3 without (too much) interference you will need a wheel, when the game recognises the wheel the controller assists will be removed. Note in the video above the steering moves as quickly as the user turns the wheel and you can get full lock instantly, usually resulting in understeer. The problems you are having with the slow steering/leaving the track with the pad screams you are going to fast into the corner to me. The slower speed will allow the steering to lock more in that direction allowing you to make the corner successfully. If you were using a wheel with the same corner speed as you were using with the pad and the results would be the same. You steer = front wheels lose grip = you end up in the gravel/barrier/wall. Basically SLOW DOWN
Paradox 92 Report post Posted November 26, 2010 Just received my copy of Forza 3 Ultimate Collection (with the "Stig's Garage pack" code) today. I was looking forward to this so I could get my extra 360 up to speed content wise with my main system. Works great. Now my nephew and I can race on separate consoles when hes over! The Fanatec wheel/Obutto Ozone is mine though
Wilko 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2010 I dont have the FM3 UC but I did end up getting a code for the Stig's garage cars from Turn 10. They are some nice cars. Recently I got the Community choice car pack. The Delorean is amazing at B/500. Ultra low COG, fairly light chassis and a wide stance makes the car one of the best cornering rides in my garage (barring any of the R1-R3 cars). I havent had the time to really dive into the latest pack. I instantly grabbed the Delorean and began testing and tuning... (which I can say I learned how to make it work for me. Thanks MrParadox and Starfox for the advice). Now that I am satisfied with it's build, I have to run it against my friends online. I am sure they are ready because I gave them an earfull about the car.
Paradox 92 Report post Posted December 26, 2010 Wilko, Do you have that DeLorean B500 tune on your storefront? I like trying out different builds and setups. There are a few tunes on my storefront from some of my favorite cars and they're reasonably priced, if not free. I'm not a pro tuner though so dont expect a leaderboard tune. Zin5ki 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2011 Hello to all. After some consideration, I decided to join this forum to ask a question about Forza 3. I presumed that the user base is sufficiently diverse to provide me with the guidance I need. What follows is a question that I hope you can address. On rare occasions I play GTR2 on "Novice" Difficulty, with traction control and anti-lock brakes switched on, but without stability help. I find such settings quite challenging, and I sometimes fail to complete a single lap without leaving the track or spinning out. I also play Live for Speed without braking assistance, and find its physics engine to provide a comparable (though slightly more accessible) challenge. With my flawed "background" in mind, is it plausible that would I nonetheless find Forza 3 — without any assists — to be too easy and forgiving? In spite of the well-presented and highly promising video review on SRT, I've read several criticisms of its physics engine from numerous forum users and Car and Driver magazine. Many people have noted that FM3 provides too much traction and overpowered brakes, making it very hard to lose control or drive off the track. (GT5 seems to have avoided such criticisms, though I've been dissuaded by its premium/standard divide.) I'd like to experience the content and customisation offered by FM3, though I fear that I've been too spoiled by PC simulators to immerse myself in its physics engine without noticing its forgivingness. Due to the price of buying a console, I'm unsure whether I should "take the plunge" or abandon the idea of acquiring the game. Would I find Forza's physics too easy to appreciate as a challenging driving simulator, when compared with the challenges I've experienced, or is my limited driving ability on the PC well-suited to Forza's level of realism? I apologise if this question seems ignorant or too personal, though I hope that someone with similar experience to my own can provide address my concerns. Thanks in advance. starfox550 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 Hi Zin5ki The FM3 physics IMO are O.K but a bit more forgiving than I'd prefer sometimes, Unless I'm drifting (and I'm rubbish at it ) I will rarely find myself in a slide I cannot catch, those out-of-control moments will however result in losing a massive amount of (race deciding) time, but in general it's difficult too completely lose the car. Much of the challenge (and fun) for me in FM3 comes from trying to produce tunes for some of the lesser cars (and the more obvious ones) and trying to keep up with some of the humans online whether it be in lobbies or chasing the leaderboard times, some of which and whom are massively fast and keep you wondering how it's possible to be that quick. I'm always having my butt handed to me by guys in the exact same cars in the cycled production lobby (stock cars & no tuning allowed) This is what keeps me coming back = trying to better my driving skills and race craft. FM3 has been designed (IMO) to be easy to pick up but hard to master. There are many like minded racers out there running leagues so it should be easy to find people of similar tastes in cars and skill level to yourself to keep you occupied. The best thing about this game is the multiple choices within it, Variation of cars, the on-line racing, the tuning/modification etc. I've logged in hundreds of hours into this game and do not regret a single one, but I do hope they address the (tyre?) physics in the upcoming title. Forza (2 and now 3) was exclusively what I used my Xbox 360 for, and it was/is worth it. Race Pro is also worth purchasing if you have an X360, It (being a SimBin title) has the physics edge FM3 is missing and what you maybe are looking for, It is a challenge just getting around a lap sometimes in that game, but online aspect is slightly lacking, but there is a small community out there still. But you will need a wheel, playing with a pad kinda kills the spirit of both games. FM3 Vs GT5 I was thinking of getting GT5, but I'm picking up the vibe that there is not enough of a physics leap between FM3 and GT5 to warrant it (I do not own a PS3 at present time). FM3 Vs GTR2 I had GTR2 installed for a while and apart from the un-catchable slides/spins in GTR2 there is not that much in it physics wise. If I were you I'd pick up a used X360 that way if your not keen, the cash loss will be much smaller. Ditch the abs and give it a try.
Zin5ki 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2011 Thank you for your input, starfox550. I shall look into what you've suggested. What I'd really like to find in FM3 is an analogue to the "Simulation Tyres" feature I enjoy in GT3 — a semi-hidden feature that provides an additional challenge to those who want it. Fortunately enough, such a feature apparently exists. I have read that it is possible to create a private "single-player multiplayer" race against 7 AI cars, for which one can manipulate the settings to give the human player a grip handicap without affecting the AI's driving ability. If the default traction settings are too forgiving for my tastes, I could always do this little trick to give the oversteer a little more bite during private sessions.
