Koykis 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2011 Hello everyone, this is my first post even though i watch ISR for quite some time now. Congratulations for the great work guys, keep it up! Now, for my question. I own a Logitech Driving Force Pro since 2003 and it still works perfectly with all the modern PC sims, no damage at all ( ) . I'd like to know if anyone here have tried to fit a bigger wheel to this one or if you've found any online guides for it. I googled it many times with no success. I'm worried though because of its age, the FFB motors may be worn out, can they support a heavier wheel if the mod is achievable? That's all for now, cheers "Koykis"
saroorhai 3 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 There used to be a kit you could buy for a larger wheel and keep the buttons. I also saw this a while back. http://home.comcast.net/~rwkeating/auto ... elReplace/ The kit was by frex I think. Below is a pic. I'm not sure if it is still made or not. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fcuttin/31206656/
Koykis 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 Thanks saroorhai, I'm interested in keeping some of the buttons of the wheel if possible. The kart wheel is an interesting idea, cheap and not too hard to achieve. I was dreaming about fitting one of my spare sparcos but they are way too heavy . I guess since the wheel was replaced by the DFGT no upgrade kits are released now?
saroorhai 3 Report post Posted May 17, 2011 Thanks saroorhai, I'm interested in keeping some of the buttons of the wheel if possible. The kart wheel is an interesting idea, cheap and not too hard to achieve. I was dreaming about fitting one of my spare sparcos but they are way too heavy . I guess since the wheel was replaced by the DFGT no upgrade kits are released now? Sorry, just saw this. I don't know if there are any upgrade kits left or not. I saw an upgraded DFP being sold modded on ebay not long ago. If all you want is a larger wheel and are worried about the wear/longevity of your old one, you might be better off to just buy the DFGT, since it has an 11 inch wheel. It is also better overall (and I loved my DFP). I doubt those kits are cheap, and it would suck to spend all that and your wheel die. If you want to use a sparco or momo I think I would opt for a g25/27 when they become availible. I bought a carting wheel for my g25, and did not use an adapter or anything, just drilled out the pattern. It is actually lighter than the stock wheel, so no worries there. If you want to go really high end, look at some of tinker's posts. He has some awesome mods.
Koykis 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Thanks a lot for the help, after your post I stopped thinking about it and decided to go for a G27 (since theres stock left in Greek shops) soon, CS pedals later. Time to get serious is it not? I dont expect to get much money from my beloved DFP, it may be better to keep it anyways.
