Marcoma 26 Report post Posted July 13, 2015 I've recently got my Thrustmaster TX working and have been playing the Forzas. (5 and H2) The issue I'm getting - despite many attempts to reconfigure and change the setup - is that whenever a car breaks traction in a slide, it is impossible to save and just spins out. I can save it just fine with the controller but not the wheel. It's like it just goes completely out of control. I read another thread that eluded to the TX having slow reaction times - is this the result of that?I'm not a bad driver in real cars but I suck @$$ at this....Anyone got any experience or solutions to this issue? serrasalmus 257 Report post Posted July 13, 2015 i cant compare on console but what i learned moving from the xbox controler on pc to a wheel is the controler is faster per say as its a lot less motion and its easier to gas and brake with a finger and steer with a thumb then a wheel and pedals will ever be, u might try setting the rotation to a lower number like 270 or 360, personally i thing 360 is a great starting point then going to 540 if u want, it took me forever to get as fast as i was with a controller with the wheel now im neck and neck and i enjoy it way more
Marcoma 26 Report post Posted July 16, 2015 OK - just so others can benefit, heres the rub. I got answers from the Forza forum - you must have traction control turned on. It then behaves like a real car.. The hilarious upshot of this was that my son has been spanking me at video driving sims when using a controller. My excuse has always been that if and when he gets a wheel, it'll be different. Well when we first tried Forza without TC I was spinning out all the time and he was still giving me guff (even though he was spinning out too) For me, it was kind of a bitter pill to swallow, especially as an ex-rally driver. Anyways, last night he calls me into his room and tells me to try the wheel again now that he's turned on TC - he said its heaps better. So I start out slow and hey, whaddya know? the cars are behaving themselves. So I start to turn on the heat. This is good. THIS IS REALLY GOOD. The big switch that got flipped was changing from 3rd person to in-car view. It was like it triggered something in me. I get off the road and on to the dirt and oh boy, it all comes back to me. Yeeehaaa! I don't think I've ever heard so many expletives from my son in one go. His jaw was on the deck. I was once again driving like a champ and eventually my son was speechless. LOL I left the room with my pride intact. RESULT!
