Fantastic review, and you're very right about the his last comment. Really puts it into perspective.

I have a quick question, not sure if it has been answer on a previous thread however.

IF I were to use the G25 pedals with the perfect pedal could I connect them straight to my computer? Is there some kind of adapter? I ask because I am currently using a 1st gen GT3 RS wheel (G25 wheel on the fritz).

Note that you will get little to no support from Leo on his stuff. He does not answer e-mails. I have a defective SLI-pro and I get no response from him on a fix. But his stuff does work and works well, but again you will get no support if something does goes wrong.

I was thinking about getting these pedals but it seems wearing shoes is a must. Maybe too realistic. Thanks for the review. I may still fork over the money for this pedal but I'll wait for ISR new Thrustmaster wheel which going to run $600. So far sounds like this wheel could be a step above Fanatec and Logitech wheels.

Excellent review Shawn.

Time will be the true test of the Perfect Pedal. Being hydraulic, it's a matter of how long will the seals last before they start leaking hydraulic fluid. The idea is most excellent and the pedal itself looks to be of very high quality but as mentioned, the price is a huge "OUCH" for this product. The one pedal is worth more than a full set of ClubSport pedals.

This is one item only true die hard sim'ers will jump on I think.

I currently have the AP Eletrix Load sensor mod installed in my G25 pedals and I think its an awsome mod, very close to what un-assisted race brakes feel like

How does this new mod compare to that one?

that is if you have tried the AP mod of course

Great review, Shaun! Without having tried the Perfect Pedal, I have no doubt that it's probably an awesome pedal, but I have to ask:

1) I guess you have to factor in the additional $30 core charge that you have to pay if you don't return your old pedal, assuming you want to keep it. If you do, the pedal is that much closer to $300.

2) if you DO return the old pedal and you find that for whatever reason you don't like the PP (and let's face it, there will always be people that might not), I guess you're kinda screwed, no?

I have to wonder if rather than pay $250 + another $45 (shipped) for a Bodnar cable to get both load based and improved resolution pedals, would it be prudent to save some more money and get what has to be the King of Sim Pedals right now (the Cannon Simulation Technologies pedals)? I have tried the latter, and I can tell you that these pedals are worth the $$!!!

Personally, I would buy the Clubsport pedals for the money. The perfect pedal just feels different though since it's fluid and is pretty awesome.

I've tried CSTs and they feel good, but they're a tad on the pricey side. You can get a rig and a set of Clubsports for that price.

Someday maybe we'll get a set to review here on the show.. HINT HINT CANNON !

Does the Perfect Pedal actually use brake fluid, does it have a bleeder?

Todd does offer a set of plans for building your own CST style pedals, shouldn't be an issue to build them for around $150. You do need about $100 for the load cell and the Bodnar board. The plans include both floor mount and hanging designs. He will even sell you a spring kit for a reasonable price if you cannot find the springs locally.

Keep in mind that the Bodnar board needed for the pedals has enough other inputs to add switches and buttons plus a H and sequential shifter to it.

Great review as usual. Those look assume. But for the money I think I'll stick with the clubsports and keep the money for a new rig. Love the new products coming out though.

Stand alone they have improved resolution, you don't need a Bodnar

Great looking review. So much so that I'm looking to get one to try with an inverted set of G27 pedals here at The Race Centre in the UK. However, a quick search of the web has turned up a number of much less positive reviews with talk of wildly spiking values with rFactor.

Did you get to try it with rFactor? Did you see any issues there?

Holy thread revival, Batman!

So, a newbie here to the sim racing scene. I've got the bug, really bad. Plans are to built a simXperience Stage IV rig in the near future. In the meantime, I'm trying to suss out the components I need and getting a lay of the land in terms of the state of the art.

I already have the Thrustmaster T500RS wheel+pedals and the Thrustmaster TH8 RS shifter for use with GT5. Great set of kit, but disappointing that it isn't at least a load cell brake. I was thinking I'd go for the Clubsports when I eventually build the rig, or spring for the CST pedals. But after researching hydraulic brakes such as the Perfect Pedal, it seems like I'd actually go for that type of setup instead.

Question is: Will the Perfect Pedal guys make a version of this for the Thrustmaster pedals? I've already emailed them but they are not responding. (Damn!) Or a version for the Clubsports?

Honestly, if you want to step up from loadcell then doubleacting hydraulics is what you want like the ones fromthe link. The second cylinder is simulating the brakesdisc contact.

I saw that thread with the Tilton pedals hooked up to the master cylinder. Amazing stuff if a little outside my understanding. I might have to PM the guy and see if he'd be willing to share some info on his build. Do you know how something like the Perfect Pedal as used in the Sim-Sport pedals compare to a crazy contraption like that?

Does anyone know if the Perfect Pedal works with the PS4 when used with a T300rs and a ricmotech pedal adapter?  I am currently using the adapter and some stock G27 pedals and want to upgrade my brake pedal.  I've read a little online about load cells damaging wheels when using an adapter so I'm a little worried.

I was lucky enough to purchase the same perfect pedal used in this review from Shaun Cole. As of the date of this review 12/24/2010, I received it sometime in 03/2017 and have been using it since then. The seals are still in good condition and no leaks, Shaun recommended the adjustment kit but it felt fine to me. A testament to the quality of Perfect pedal's product. 7 years old and still works like a charm, thanks to Shaun Cole again for hooking me up.

In this mod he cut the voltage regulator out and switch de voltages/ground.

This may be a solution, but I can't find anything about this on the internet
