Logitech G29?.

86 posts in this topic

it's old news now but i will say i'm 99.9% sure it's not real. Logitech would have to of taken something pretty strong to come up with a wheel that looks like a bunch of game pads glued together. They would of course looked into other companies wheels and looked at what they are producing so you would think. If they released such a wheel as that it's probably the worse thing they could do.

That thing looks far too well-designed for a fake or diy job. Looks to me it will be coming out...great:-)

I'd hope there would be improvements to the base as well.

The design is quite nice apart from the symbols on these PS buttons which could be less prominent for the PC users.

Might get it...

Guys watch the ''$#CE SHIFTER'' box in the background of the 2nd photo . . . .
Are you thinking what i 'm thinking. . . . ? If this prototype exists . . . + the ''race shifter'' box . . . . snif -snif -snif   . . . . . . . It smells me . . . . . . . . . .
Logitech's racing eco-system . . . .
But if it is true, (please Logitech) , redesign this ''prototype'' for a more attractive official product with a 300mm wheel. DO NOT make ''budget people'' buy again ugly racing wheels.

The look of the wheel  can`t be approved from serious company like Logitech.Looks DIY project and Fake. And the source is suspicious.

Darin should give us a 'don't like' button...I'd have hit it on this one of yours ;)

Ok, so I wouldn't impress you if I showed off this new G29 on my rig ;)  :D

However, my gut feeling is they went the budget route and reduced the changes to the rim and electronics for compatibility...so it wouldn't be worth it for me to purchase this thing as my G27 is still in top condition.

If there was such a button you will had 1000 of it received trust me:) And if you like the look - this speaks for your taste and visions for good and bad looking;)

Infact  you dont buy wheels to impress me - you buy them for your satisfaction. If this is final product _ I dont tell that I will not buy it. I am saying here that the look it is too much like prototyper or DIY stage.  The Logitech products have very good look IMO.I can`t believe that this is approved like final product. But if the wheel perfomrs well on a good price I am not against ugly look - because you can change this with custom rim.

Haha...see what happens, huh?

Btw. there will be a comparison test of all the DD wheels coming up. It seems Barry will do it. I'm very keen to see the outcome of this.

Not sure if I'll be patient enough to wait for a proper DD wheel from Fanatec or MPPC. Beano on iracing has offered to help me if I started an OSW project.

I think the chances are good that I'll get into that.

Sorry about getting off track here.

Guys, check the pic that Scrogger posted.

1.Stated Driving Force on the box.

2.The small red keys from G27 are shown on the box - on the wheel pic the design is different.

And this box is under a desk in a office. C`mon;)

For me this is a joke.

If Logitech worked on a new wheel at least will state it in twitter, to keep fans interest before they buy TM or Fanatec.

Next pic of this wheel must be from Area 51 or under bed of  the Queen of England!

Lol...that labelling 'Driving Force' is rather saying it is a new wheel imo.

Initially I thought I recognise these old 3 buttons on that box, but that's deceiving. It must be a sticker or so.

That picture just confirms to me that we'll get a new Logitech wheel.

Guess we just have to acknowledge that Logitech doesn't care about the high-end sim gear market.

It is a very good and extremely reliable wheel which cost as a complete set including H-pattern shifter and pedals even less than just a high-end sequential shifter...and is probably still more reliable.

Cheers

So, Logitech produced wheel like nuclear weapon in North Korea. In complete silence. And to have a carton box ,must be in production and took from production line , not a prototype. Too many missleadings here. I will be happy to see another Logitech wheel. No mather successor of Driving Force GT or G27.

That would be nice. In that case there's still the chance Logitech coming with another top of the line wheel replacing the G27.

Especially if they decide to up the ante and go with brushless motors and move away from the helical gears.

More buttons will be nice and I know some people will say the base is fine as it is, but to not make some kind of advancement to the base would really be a missed opportunity.

And another blurb on the G29 http://www.gamereactor.eu/news/318504/Report%3A+Logitech's+new+G29+Racing+Wheel+detailed/

Sources close to Logitech have offered up some details on the firm's newest racing wheel.

Reportedly the G29 will be licensed to Sony for use on the PS3 and PS4, meaning the wheel won't be compatible or released for PC. There'll only be one model of the wheel on offer - with a RRP of 189 Euros - with a gear shift add-on to be sold separately.

An official announcement looks set to be around mid to late June, potentially putting a reveal right slap in the middle of E3, with a release possibly following shortly after.

So if this is true, then it looks like more than a DFGT but less than G27. Marketing-wise I guess it makes sense for the market they are aiming for (console user) but I can't say I'm not disappointed.

If this wheel is true I am more satisfied than dissapointed. The look is ugly ,but I can mage this :) For me is ok that the body and pedals are the same old G27 stuff; propably the shifter will be ,too. I will not go from fanatec and Thrustmaster to gear driven Logitech on PS4, but good to have it around for mods etc:)

As for my thoughts. I'll like the price most likely, but the design is lacking...but to be fair it is not really that terrible...I can live with this. If this is not belt driven though, the whole project is a waste of time.

Anyone think the rim will be detachable from the wheelbase (i.e. so it can be replaced with a better one Logitech might release letter)?
