Given the high demand for these plans, I would like to ask for a small donation going forward.

If you honestly cannot afford a small donation because your at school, then I will continue to send them for free.

In the last year alone I have sent over 250 copies of the plans for free, but seen less than 3 rigs built & posted.

What is it about this design which makes it so appealing? I would like to improve the design...

Drawings sent Prim4te

Scale drawings are free, just send me an email. Note the drawings are good enough to get you started but don't offer full construction detailing.

I have also redesigned wheel stand so it rotates to make getting in easier.

Can I please get these plans for this? My email address is [email protected]

Wow, that build looks very very nice! Love the paint job too! I haven't painted my own yet, thinking of making a Gulf paint scheme.

I see that you too didn't run the slats up too the end, is that also because you found your legs aimed upwards? I actually have my pedals about 15cm above the ground so my legs are facing down which I find more comfortable.

One more question, how do you lock your steering wheel base in place? I see a few hinge-points, but how do you keep it there once seated?

Thank you for your kind comments, but the real thanks is owed to steve as it is his design :-)

I didnt run the slats to end because of the pedal tower i created which sits inside the main frame, the missing slats allow me to adjust pedals forwards and backwards for different size people ( the pedals are set up on a set of seat runners i brought from a wrecking yard). The actual pedals ended up at around the same height as if slats were in place so my calves are roughly horizontal to floor as I did not want to lose the flat positioning to keep close to an actual f1 seating position.

The steering wheel shelf is not locked as such ( but wheel is bolted to shelf) i put plastic sleeves in the hinge points and just ran bolts through so it lifts and after you are seated it drops and rests on the floor, its seems pretty stable but can rock a bit with strong force feedback so im looking to create a wedge system to tighten.

hope this helps in some way and look forward to seeing photos of the gulf paint scheme!

regards

Steve,

love your design. We would like to build your Simulator for our 10 year old. This one is so nice we can place it in our living room so he can relax on it when he isn't racing. We would like to build it so we can remove the steering wheel and pedals quite easy, do you have an idea? Can you please send us the plan?

Many thanks!

Elke

Here is what I've ended up with after starting with Steve's plans. I'll make a separate build diary thread so I can add all the different variations from start to whats seen above. :)

Hi there.

I wanted to do a F1 rig project and this was a good start. So I draw it up and made some changes, but then I found another way to build it. I dont want the plans to go to waste if some of you still want to build it, so here they are in 4064x2136. No charge :)
