Man, This is something else!  If I wasn't so 0ld I'd build this one for sure  This should help a couple of people from just today to get started in their rig build alone. This I feel will be a great starter rig for so many people, Steve you been holding back, huh?  Just kidding on that part.

Thank you Stone. Sorry I was not holding back just forgot to post... I searched the forum tonight and could not find it!

I always wanted to build one for a local sim racer, and do a full build thread.

It's not super stylish like the hyperstim but a lot better looking than some sim rigs, plus it has integrated seat to keep the cost low.

When I get some time I will make plans for my own version of the hyperstim!

I think this rig has so much potential to be made in a very fancy rig also. Just think, how well some 0l' buttkicker's would work on it  and the feeling from them, Man-a-live!  And, a Custom cover to sit on. It could be carried all the way from the headrest to your ankles IF you wanted it to.  And, a Custom Console on one side with all the goodies in and on it W0W!  Good-Goo-A-moo-ma, I can see it Now  Thanks, for posting this for all to see. It's sure to get A Lot of people started to make some kind of a version of it, Steve. Also, I know you wasn't holding back I was just kidding ya!

Hi Stone, I knew you were kidding. I think this design has lots of potential for something cool. Add some nice upholstery padding, then add some side panels to give it a cool shape.

I hope this provides sim racers with inspiration to build something cool, then my effort was worth it.

F1Fanatic21 provided some dimensions last night, so I made a few small adjustments. Full-scale plans are complete, but please be aware I have not built one, so builders may need modify for comfort.

I used the F1 real car cross section and Henry Dreyfuss ergonomic model data, so the design should be pretty close. I took one liberty to make the seat easier to enter & exit, by reducing the slope of the calf area.

Once I get my workshop I've decided to make myself one of these as my first project - thanks Steve.

I think it would be really cool if the wheel could flip up behind you when getting out of the rig and could be pulled down once in the rig - a bit like a roller coaster safety harness bar that comes down around you. The restrictive side support arms you'd need to add would make it "feel" like you were in a race car especially if your arms touched it while steering when using VR.

Last year someone else asked for F1 sim rig plans, so I developed this concept for fun because I enjoy woodworking and design challenges.

The sim racer who asked wanted to build a sim rig with very basic woodworking tools from a sheet of MDF & some construction grade timber.

The second design constraint was the sim rig needed to be easy to get in and out and cheap to produce.

I always meant to post just in case it inspired someone else. This week I noticed two people looking this week.

The wheel deck is slotted for adjustment back and forth.

Tools required, Jigsaw, cut off saw & router.

I used the F1 cut away drawing to get the correct ergonomics.

I can give you full scale drawing plans and happy to make adjustment if someone wants to build this very simple F1 rig.

Hi can you please send me the plans with the moving wheel

cheers

I have not seen a finished version yet, UNKLE...

I have sent the drawings to 30+ sim racers and just asked them to post me images of the progress or finished results.

A few have shown work in progress...

Well just finish to print and paste the template to cut, but what kind of wood recommend, must be good and cheap, the goal this cost less than a playseat challenge or even much less (hahaha)

Drawings sent Prim4te

Scale drawings are free, just send me an email. Note the drawings are good enough to get you started but don't offer full construction detailing.

I have also redesigned wheel stand so it rotates to make getting in easier.

Can you email me the plans for this rig please SteveS
