AccuForce Wheel Arrives

110 posts in this topic

Finally after what feels like an age my AccuForce order came through yesterday.

Not seem many people posting that they have this wheel on the forum yet so thought I would post a few pics and share some of my excitement :shock::mrgreen:

First off some pics...

The wheel comes with a 32" 32cm round wheel and button box.  I have had a Fanatec CS F1 wheel converted by Precision Sim Engineering so that it will accept the AF QR and run the buttons / display via the QR's USB pass though.

The AccuForce motor is just plain beautiful. The housing is purple aluminium with a carbon front and weighs a ton.  One of the great things about Direct Drive wheels is they can be mounted at any angle and I have always struggled with knee room so I mounted the AF inverted and it's brilliant, I have far more leg room and can raise my pedals for a better driving position.

My first few laps driving with the AF were just WOW.  I'm not saying I will be any quicker, but the feeling is just so much better than I have experienced before.

Now to get to grips with the many settings.

What I will say is this, if you have one on order you are in for a treat.  In your thinking about ordering, well just do it :)  The wait is long and painful - SimXperience don't keep you informed very well but hell, it so worth it.

If anyone has any questions regarding the AccuForce i'm now in a position to help, so ask away.

Simon

Lucky guy :) I wish I had the cash to buy one myself. Thanks for sharing!

By the way how much did it cost the Fanatec F1 adapted? It's fully funcional, right? Displays, Leds, Buttons, Hatswiches, the whole lot?

Nice setup and glad you are enjoying the wheel, please continue to share your tips for setting up and tweaking the settings of the wheel as you learn more about it.  I want to come back to this thread and reference it once I get an AF

It's also nice to see that you can invert the wheel, there will be a lot of happy owners of F1 cockpits with that ability.

He ment 320mm lol. Mine came yesterday also. But I could only take it out the box and admire it lol. Had to study and work and school all week. Makes me sad. I'm thinking about inverting mine also. I have to slightly modify my mount for it to bolt it up good.

Did yours come with only two bolts?

Yes just the 2 bolts - but I was never going to use those anyway as I needs counter sunk bolts for my mount.  I used 7 20mm M6 flat head blots in the end.

Why 7 I hear you ask? well one of my holes was out of line :( so could not use all 8... but 7 is overkill anyway :)

My mount is made of 6mm Aluminium with slots cut to bolt to my 80/20 profile.  I've used some M6 thumb bolts to attach, so I can loosen them and slide the mount forward by about 40mm if I need to. This allows for fairly quick adjustment if different wheel rims are better closer to the seat.

Once I'm comfortable with the wheel position, I need to re-angle my triple screens as the FOV is wrong.  Then I must start work building a new dashboard as my old CSW V2 one is way too big for the new layout. With an SLI-Pro, Z1 4.3" USB Screen and custom buttons / LED displays to play with the dash should be fun.

In amongst all this I have a review to finish of the HE Ultimate pedals that arrived last week... Busy time, but fun - might even get some races in LOL

Beautiful and awesome wheel, Simon; congrats!  :)

It's my deep wish, to get an SimXperience Accuforce wheel when my CSWv1 goes 'kaputt'...

BTW; how long have you waited for the wheel ?

Glad to see you finally got your wheel. It's good to know I'm not the only one that struggles with the leg room on my rig! I'm so torn between getting an accuforce or making a DIY DD wheel and currently I am leaning towards making a diy but looking forward to the review to hear your thoughts

It was yours and sim racing garage that helped me choose my hpp pedals. I ended up buying a rossi m1 f1 wheel. No debating on keeping the quick release it has and modding the accuforce or just waiting to finally get the af quick release.

My order was placed about 6 hours after they launched (Trust me to go to sleep doh).  So i've been waiting since 31st December.

Anyone ordering now should expect delivery in August, so about the same wait 3-4 months.  I was early Batch 2 in the process.

I will keep this thread updated with my findings an thoughts.  I may well write up a proper review, a bit undecided because i'm not really sure how to measure things and I really just want to enjoy the thing.

Welcome to the club!!!! congrats on getting your wheel.

Give me a shout if you need any help getting up to speed with it.

We so need to start a little AF owners club so we can share settings. After reading the iRacing threads, it is funny how everyone sets up their Accuforce so differently. I guess that is the joys of having so many options in Sim Commander for tuning.

I think that's a great idea Avenga76

I get lost in the iRacing forums sometimes, so some simple and useful tips here would be useful

Yeah, I have stopped following the main tread in iRacing because there is just too many posts. It is really easy to get lost in all the other posts and it because hard to find useful info.

I wrote a really good article on understanding clipping and using the visual lap analyser in games like AC or GSC but it is buried away in the SimXperience forums. I might make a thread here just for settings and tuning discussions later tonight.

I think an owners club thread would be great.

I posted up on the simxperience.com show today about switching out the quick release but no replies yet.
