dukenukem 3 Report post Posted January 13, 2015 May sound very silly but I just popped the wheels out of my chair. Still spins and I can lift it easily but it will not slide when I hit the brake. For some reason its a pain in the ass to remove the wheels in my chair, the casters with brakes seem like the best solution, im just not sure if the material of the wheels (plastic) will have enough grip. I wish they made the wheels out of that other type of plastic, like these: I think that type of plastic + the brake would have enough grip to fully press the brake pedal and not move the chair. Unfortunately all I find for office chairs are these: This type of plastic lacks grip I think.
Andrew_WOT 66 Report post Posted January 15, 2015 This works like a charm on my office chair, using Ricmotech load cell (it's pretty stiff). It's soft caster so it's quite grippy, now my concern is wheel stand pro that is moving away from me when pushing brakes. LOL. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00132MHY6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=

Quite annoying though lol.
Andrew_WOT 66 Report post Posted January 15, 2015 Putting it on a carpet gripper solved WSP moving issues for me.

dukenukem 3 Report post Posted January 16, 2015 Can you link me to a thick carpet on ebay that will guarantee that the carpet + these casters provide a solid grip? Ideally I hope I don't need it tho, it would be too annoying to put/remove the carpet.
Dave362. 38 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Just strips of velcro attached to a length of 2 by 4........ The point is the prickly (don't know what else to call it) side of velcro sticks to carpet as if the carpet is the other velcro piece. If you put a couple of inches of sticky back velcro toward the end of each side of a couple of feet of 2 by 4, you can put that against a couple of wheels on your chair and it will keep it from moving around. Not a noteworthy innovation, just what I had lying around when I got tired of my chair moving when I used the clutch or brake....
dukenukem 3 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 Im still accepting more suggestions. Just strips of velcro attached to a length of 2 by 4........ Not a noteworthy innovation, just what I had lying around when I got tired of my chair moving when I used the clutch or brake.... I still dont get it. Why wouldn't the wheel run above the non prickly part of the velcro strips? can you post some pics??
