6 gigs RAM

AMD Radeon HD 6450

I will be running it on a 50 Vizio via hdmi mounted to a Obutto r3v no plan for triple screens

T 300 rs for a wheel and th8a shifter I have been thinking about the main performance pedal so I can use the with PC and console open for input on that as well. For sound I will be using Logitech Z906. My main question is will I be able to enjoy PC sims with my setup I know absolutely nothing about PC specs I would love to play Iracing, asseto corsa and anything I can get my hands on! Thanks to all ahead of time and I am open to all suggestions and willing to upgrade if I need to but I would like to wait if I can.

Hi LegionWolf and welcome to ISRT.

I'd say your computer setup is good enough for most sims out there, the only draw back I can see is that you might have to turn down some of the eye candy if your video card can't keep up a decent frame rate, older titles will run very well, it's the newer ones (rFactor-2, Assetto Corsa and RaceRoom) that might be a bit of a system hog regarding video performance.

Best of luck and enjoy PC sim racing. :)

Take care

Thanks for the info is there anything I can do to run the newer sims with a bit more ease aside from dropping tons of cash

Best bet is to try them (sim software), some have a demo you can download (let's you play for 60 minutes or so), and try them, and see how far down you'll have to turn down your graphics, might still look pretty good.

The problem is if your computer is old enough, it probably has PCIE 2.0 (this is the slot for your video card) and now newer video cards require PCIE 3.0, you can plug a 3.0 video card into a 2.0 slot but you'll be restricting the performance of the new video card.

Older titles like Race07, GTR2, rFactor (not rFactor-2) and so on should run beautifully on your system as it sits. Even though they are older titles, they are still fun and most still look pretty decent. I am listing sim software only, not arcade style games, there's lots of those that would run on your computer also.

Take care

As Catapult said, you just need to turn down the eye candy somewhat. Games are mostly GPU dependent so your video card will end up being the bottle neck when turning up details. You could also run at 1280x720 resolution with more details if you are ok with the lower resolution (compared to 1920x1080).  If you CPU is overclockable, you could try to that as well, boosting it up to 3.4Ghz or so on the stock fan without investing in any $100 water coolers.

I'm not so much worried about it in 1080p at this point I just want to be able to get the experience of driving, I will be getting project cars for ps4 so I can get my eye candy there. As for the main performance pedals are they worth it because I want a clutch and can't use clubsport v2s with ps4 . My computer is from 2012 end of 2011 I know that is old but I don't know if that is what you are taking about how would I know if it's a PCIE 2.0 or a 3.0

I'm not familiar with the main performance pedal. It is nice to have a clutch but it only really matters for a small handful of cars. Most racing cars are sequential, or paddle shifted unless you run old mods on rFactor, MX5/Lotus79 for instance on iRacing, or some street cars.

you can google search for a manual for your motherboard name/model and see if it's PCIE 2 or 3.0. Otherwise its normally printed on the motherboard by the corresponding slot.
