New in simracing - Questions about H Shifter and Wheel ring replacement

Hi all, I'm really new to sim racing, i've been playing lots of rfactor but few weeks ago i've made myself a cockpit to make my racing more immersive. I have really low end stuff, old pc, Logitech formula force EX wheel, but i enjoy it, now i'm looking for an H shifter, but since im not paying like 150$ or a lot more for it, i was thinking of doing it myself.

Also, I was thinking about replacing stock wheel ring of my logitech wheel, to some wheel from real cars, is that possibile?

EDIT: I might be able to get Logitech G25 for a decent price. What would be the next step?
