Thrustmaster TX motor spec/ upgrade? 4 4

Hi all,

 

Does anyone know torque and wattage specs for Thrusmaster TX (or T300) motor?

 

Has anyone tried fitting a bigger motor, and what would be max motor size for TX power supply?

 

Do you have links to similar projects?

Hi Tino, Sorry I have not seen any motor upgrades on the TX just posts with fan changes.

Been wondering the same, well more towards increasing power to the motors.  In my discussion thread for the G27's we found out the maximum voltage for the motors/circuitry laid between 30 and 32v @ 2.5 amps compared to it's stock 24v @ 1.7 amp power source.  This required direct cooling of the motors and most especially the circuit board.  I have only tried it a few times with noticeable difference before I switched to the TMaster TX.  A member named angcor has been running his for some time now with 'knock on wood' no problems.

Based on that link the Thrustmaster stock motor is a B4260m-s03.  The specs are on this link .  If I'm reading this right the motor is running at the 24v @ 2.48a on load.  The stock adapter for the G25/27's is rated 24v @ 1.75a and the max power that was pushed was at 30v @ 2.5a in my Logitech wheel discussion.  Interesting.

New TX on it's way from amazon Italy and I also have a test subject for motor replacement

Did Andrew managed to replace the motor in the end?

 

Are there any other options (possibly with more torque) which would work without replacing the circuit board?

I wonder if TX circut board would be able to run B5685M-S04 without any major modifications.

If it did, it would make the most powerfull TX on the market ~ 80W motor

Does anyone know of a suitable motor replacement? I purchased a broken t300rs gt for 95$ because they said it didn't power on and I thought I would just need to fix or replace the PSU. Instead it's a motor issue. Waiting on my parents to send up my multimeter to track down the issue for sure, but the wheel basically just clicks and moves slightly, and will pull against turning it for just small periods of time. It does not calibrate. Even with the belts disconnected the motor just barely moves.

It might not be motor issue. I have the same problem - try running https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/attachments/t300_motor_calibration-zip.671884/ - it helps for a short while. Then when driving, the FFB soon fades away up until a point where the wheel enters a broken failsafe mode and does not respond at all again. Repeat for the same disappointing result. Currently troubleshooting myself, I'll post here if any news.

I managed to fix the wheel. The issue was with the wheel's motor, where the magnetic core had come loose from the shaft itself.
Much thanks to Fikszyn who described this problem in https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3176691.html thread.

The disassembly of the motor was not easy, but manageable with the right tools. I had to use CA solvent to detach the motor's pcb from the housing as it was glued in.

I cleaned the shaft spacers and the magnetic core with solvent and then applied a red loctite and let it cure overnight. After assembly and running the thrustmaster calibration tool the wheel works perfectly!

Hey Trez, any chance of a brief writeup on the dissasembly? Translating the thread you linked it sounds like the magnetic core may have to be glued in a certain orientation, is that true?

Hi, I've had the same problem with my T300 lately. I've managed to fix motor so I thought about sharing some pictures and instructions about how to solve the problem with calibration due to poor glue quality on the shaft.
