Beat LA 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Hello- I am new to sim racing and am on the cusp building my first rig. I am probably over doing it for my first one but I don't want to have any regrets. Here is what I am looking at: SimXperience Stage IV 2 Buttkickers GS-4G seat Triple 43" plasma screens Fanatec CS Wheel base V1 Fanatec CS Formula US Fanatec CS pedals V2 500w Dolby 5.1 4 channel 600w amp (for buttkickers) PC HP Envy 700xt i7-4770 processor 8GB RAM 250GB SSD 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 745 Windows 8.1 64 bit Fanatec v. Thrustmaster - I am a little torn here after reading some other forums. Fanatec looks considerably more durable and professional but it seems their customer service and reliability is questionable. Thoughts/Suggestions? Thank you
CaTaPulT 658 Report post Posted December 6, 2014 Looks good except the video card, if you're going to run triple screens, then something like a 780ti or the new 980 would be better. Take care Regards: >>>> Jack <<<<
serrasalmus 257 Report post Posted December 6, 2014 that video card would barley play on one screen let alone 3.....like cata said 780 or higher or bust...

Wid_Fo! 48 Report post Posted December 6, 2014 The GS-4G seat you'll probably have to rethink and find an alternative, as they're rarer than identical snowflakes. Unless you get lucky and find a secondhand one in the for sale boards but be quick if you do and just buy it. Very sought after.
serrasalmus 257 Report post Posted December 6, 2014 ok so a lil digging says that pc needs help...its only running 1 dimm and needs 2 for full speed dual channel, and the most important of all it gives no info on what size power supply you get, so id look at that first and see u may have a small power supply and not even be able to run any card bigger then a 750ti wich would be leaps and bound better then that 745....the 745 is a first gen maxwell core it will be power efficient and performance wont be shabby but it will not run three screens. according to what ive dug up its a oem only card and oem can put as small as a 300watt power supply in the pc with it. and i hope to hell u didnt pay 900 bucks for that pc if so HP owned you
Beat LA 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2014 Thanks wid. Probably going to dump gs4 seat for standard race seat. Serra, have not purchased anything just yet. Definitely going upgrade the graphics card. Any big difference between the 970 and 980 (Besides about $250)? Hp had a power option of 300, 600 or 900. What do you recommend? What should a computer cost for the set up I am looking for?

If he can afford a SimXperience Stage IV and full Fanatec gear, then I think he can afford a 970 lol
Wid_Fo! 48 Report post Posted December 8, 2014 No problem and all the best with the build. Seeing as you're spending a few quid/bucks Sparco do some very nice seats
Jason Bourne 1 Report post Posted December 26, 2014 If he can afford a SimXperience Stage IV and full Fanatec gear, then I think he can afford a 970 lol hahah exactly! this guys wears multiple gtx 970s on his neck with a gold chain! lol epic setup man. 3 43" monitors? isn't that bit overkill? also, have you considered SLI config? bennettleben 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2015 I wouldn't go for the 900 GPU's unless you plan on getting G-sync monitors, stick with the 780/TI as that will be cheaper now the new cards are out.
