Thanks. Just trying to help others as it took me 5 months before making my initial wheel purchase because information were overwhelming, scattered and sometimes distorted by sponsorships and brand supporters which made it so hard to decide when you're on a limited budget.

 

I hope this will help more racing fans new to console/pc gaming to get a proper wheel.

Entering an expensive hobby with very limited funds and price of the only option of a 900 degree wheel on PS4 is not exactly cheap (especially considering the low quality pedals it comes with for the asking price).

not really anymore with fanatec's horrible customer service and lack of communication when they have knowledge their products are delayed way ahead of a preorder date and refuse to let anyone know until after that date when the customer asks them...(css sq).... actually been debating since that debacle last week to cancel v2 and the css sq with them and just stick with my TM gear.  They got my money and I got nothing and for someone to have my money and not talk to me (or anyone else unless directly asked, then we get a common response) is not cool

I've never bought anything "mechanical" from Fanatec but I sure like my wheelstand, and even tho I have a triple screen PC rig it still holds up the DFGT I use to play PS3 games on the big TV.

 

As for their wheels, I almost ordered the GT3RSv2 back in the day, as they had a bundle that included Clubsport pedals INCREDIBLY cheap... but didn't. Bought a G27 and loved it. Saw the CSR Elite and CSW, and was thinking really hard about them... but I caught a tremendous sale on the T500RS and got it instead.

 

I get the feeling that Fanatec is a small company that tackles issues that it can't handle in a timely fashion... but they always seem to deliver. I'm sure your patience will be rewarded.

I share your sentiments from what I've gathered. Also considering how small they are as a company, I was curious as to how you think a company like Fanatec would do on a TV show like Shark Tank? Surely those issues you mentioned would be ironed out quickly if they had a huge partner to please. Plus, Mark Cuban is always saying things that are immersive/give an experience are always the best...and sim racing/racing wheel peripherals is as close to an experience as it gets...

I'm trying to decide on which wheel to purchase. I like the Thrustmaster T300RS, but I've read that the pedals aren't that great, and that I'd probably want to buy a better set to replace them. So would the Fanatec CSR Elite Pedals be compatible with this wheel?
Also, I've never owned a wheel before, so should I buy a stand and if so, which one?

I'm playing on PS3 and PS4, so compatibility with both those is also a concern.

The pedals are compatible with a basher boards CPX adapter (Google it ) 

 

The stock pedals are a fine starter set, and more than adequate for console racing, I still use the standard set with a foam block tucked behind the brake lever to give a bit of progressive resistance. Personally I would put the pedal money towards a rig.

 

I would at least buy a stand to start with, all dependent on your budget of course, I started with a $15 student laptop desk as a wheel stand (worked great) and I got two solid years out of that proving to my wife this wasn't a "fad" Then I built one, then purchased one. 

 

As for dedicated stands, i would be looking at the Next Level wheel stand Darin reviewed on here, as it is rock solid (I know several other owners as well and they all testify) and it can be converted to a full rig later on with the seat add on.

 

Another option would be the Fanatec CSL as a starter rig, economical, compact, light, and rigid. (also reviewed by Darin)

Decided I am never gonna use my G27, tried a few title's on my old ps3 and the truth is you just cant go back, So to anybody starting out that got a crappy wheel or is even using a pad then I am gonna hand mine over,  all you got to do is post a pic of your set up and the guys will decide on which is worst....  I can ship for free to anywhere in U.K but if you guys across any ponds want to pay shipping then have at it. ps. wheel and shifter only, and a DFGT does not qualify as a crap wheel.
