Herbino 12 Report post Posted September 7, 2014 Hello, I have been playing forza on my Xbox one since release and I'm now ready to take the plunge on a wheel and stand for project cars. This will be the first time I have bought a wheel and I've decided on the thrustmaster tx which will allow me to get into pc racing down the line. At the moment I play my xbox from the couch which is set up directly in front of the TV about 8ft away (small living room). Basically I am looking for advice on the best wheel stand available in the uk for this type of setup. Eventually I will hopefully make the transition into pc racing with a proper setup but at the moment due to buying my first house funds are limited, and my pc room also houses the Mrs' hedgehog (don't ask) so theres not enough room until it snuffs it! I was looking at the wheel stand pro but don't want to buy it if there are better alternatives. Thanks in advance!
stone775 173 Report post Posted September 7, 2014 HI Herbino, And, WELCOME to "Sim Racing". I know what you are talking about "A SMALL LIVING ROOM" I've got that same Problem Myself TV 6' away-Yah! I was using "Fanatec's" Wheel Stand. Which, I Really Liked it alot Plus, I recommend it highly it is a Great Wheel Stand (for a wheel stand) It will fold up for storage real well and doesn't scoot around when braking to bad on carpet or a rug -- Hardwood floors, I don't know about. There are also the "Wheel Stand Pro" (I don't remember who makes it) people say is a Great one also (?) I don't know myself. I hope this will help you some and maybe We'll be racing together in the future.....he-he
CaTaPulT 658 Report post Posted September 7, 2014 Hi Herbino and welcome to ISRT. The TX is basically the only real wheel you can get for the XBone, there is the Madcat wheel, but for it's price, it's a good idea to steer clear of that one (way over priced for what you get) My little piece of advice would have to be the following. Give yourself time to get use to the wheel and pedals, it is very much different that using a controller, you'll be a lot slower at first, maybe even crash a lot, the car will come to life with a wheel, the force feedback will take some getting use to, kind of like knowing each little shake of the wheel means something different, like loss of traction, bumps in the road and so on. Give yourself time to get the feel for the wheel and how it behaves when you do certain things while racing. Once you get use to it, you'll have a great time and realize that you were missing sooooooo much while using a Xbox controller. Best of luck in your sim racing adventure. Take care Regards: >>>> Jack <<<<
