Damn man. You are lucky. I need to work 6 days this week.

Yeah, New Zealand is a pain in the a$$ time zone.

If we wanted to do Auckland, NZ - New York, USA - London, UK. then we have a pretty small window of opportunity.

At 3pm Saturday in New York it will be 7am sunday here in NZ and 8pm Saturday in UK

lol that works for me but you feel like waking up at 7am on a sunday to race?

I think your 8/9am is also doable for you, anytime works for me, its up to London on a sunday if they wanna stay up late.

It will be London's Saturday night so it is probably perfect.

So it will be early Sunday morning for me, late Saturday night for London and Saturday afternoon for New York.

Awesome.

Do you want to host the game or do you want me to? If anyone from London is playing then it would be better if you host it because you would be central to both of us.

Do you know how to host a game? You will probably need to do some port forwarding in your firewall then I can connect to your IP address.

this from the FAQ

Which ports do I need to open on a dedicated server in order to host?

TCP port 34747 must be opened. In addition to this, the UDP port numbers are listed in the multiplayer.ini as 34597 and 34697 by default need to be opened. You need to open from these two UDP numbers upwards for each server you have open.

What track and car should we do? I was thinking something like Formula 3 at Interlagos.

I can do Spielberg historic. I did it in the Formula Vee for my video a few weeks ago. I haven't driven the Formula Classic for a while so I will give myself a refresher before then.

I could try hosting. I am probably the worst for it because I am miles away from everyone, so everyone will be lagged instead of just me. I have a static IP and pretty fast internet (40mb down and 10mb up). It won't be the greatest if UK or EU want to join.

Yeah. You would be better than me at hosting.

Do you know how to do port forwarding on your firewall?

I did go in to multiplayer in GSC and I couldn't see any servers so maybe there are just no public servers. Maybe if this does work out well we could look at hosting a dedicated server in the states or something.

Hey guys. My server is up. Me and King had a little test and it seems sweet. There was no lag even though I am in New Zealand and the ping was only 130-150ms which is sweet. I have PM'd a few of you with details.

anyone else who is keen for a race this weekend PM me and post in here and I will send you the server details.

Okay. This is looking good.

Lets start at 4pm Saturday in New York, 8am Sunday in NZ and 9pm Saturday in UK.

We will be racing the formula classic at spielberg historic.

We will start with a little bit of a practice and qualifying then we will move in to some racing. We will just keep it nice and casual because it is our first try so no set timeframes. we will just meet in the server and the above times and take it from there.

PM me for server details if you want to join in.

Yeah. That was epic fun. Kiwi and I played for another 3 or 4 hours, just hooning around in the old Opala all 80's style. It was total blast.

It turns out that Kiwi and I are about the same pace so we raced on 4 or 5 tracks and kept swapping times, Some tracks I was a little faster, others he was faster but it was just so much fun power sliding those old cars around.

We had the most 80's paint jobs ever. I will take some screenshots from the replays.

I am very keen to do it again. I was just hosting the server off my laptop and it takes very little CPU power or bandwidth to run and there was no lag.
