Ok so this Sunday is my birthday and i finally decided (after a year of wanting it) to get a g27 wheel. i plan on playing games such as iracing, asseto corsa, dirt, and city car driving simulator (for the mods). I was wondering if anyone could help me out a little more on understanding some of the safety rating stuff. Also are there any other games you guys would recommend?

Hi buddy, welcome to the forum.......the information on here is vast, and if you can't find an answer to a particular question, then simply ask.....like you have done so!!! There's always somebody that can help you out with advice, pointers, tips etc.

Safety Rating, basically will improve (or decrease!!!) based on how well you drive on circuits (Road or Oval) and how safe you are to participate in online races with other sim racers....it's as simple as that.

Losing control of your vehicle, can dampen your journey in getting your D licence, which will allow you to race with others.

To get your licence you have to participate in practice sessions, and I believe Time Trials, oh and qualifying sessions, I'm no expert....I've just started my iracing career and I don't have my licence yet!!! But then again I enjoy playing so many different sims that's it's hard to give it a lot of time.....iracing CAN get expensive, don't go buying every car & track....start off slow....practice, practice and practice some more with the series you decide to start with (you get certain free cars & tracks with subscription)

I can totally recommend Game Stock Car Extreme....it's not the prettiest sim out there, but boy is it fun to drive, the physics are incredible.....it feels soooooo good!!!

I totally recommend heading over to the Iracing section and watch Darin & Shaun's video on iracing and getting started....I've watched it several times to try and soak it all in!!! It's a lot of info to take in all at once.

But above all.....have fun with whatever you play, that's the whole point in all this! ;)

Oh and personally.....I love a good blast on Grid Autosport....it's not a sim...it's a game, but it's fun to play!

I also love the F1 titles from codemasters, again.....not a sim, more of a simcade kind of game....but it's down to personal preference in what cars you like to drive....I'm an open wheel nut.......Grid Autosport has a good variety of car classes to choose from.

Regards, Jason

Welcome!

Other then iracing, Gamestock car and rFactor 2 are good titles. It's always nice to take a break from the stress of online racing sometimes and these 2 titles offer that relaxation....unless your driving the V12 in GSC ;)

CHEERS! :D
