DjFIL 180 Report post Posted July 31, 2014 And waiting for 2015, if I buy one at all. Crazy they would do the PC release twice within 6 months, since 2015 version will be next-gen and PC and released in Early 2015 (expecting it at or just before start of next season). I'll try the 2014 "F1" cars that GSC Extreme release... and then decide if I want F1 2015 or not.
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted July 31, 2014 I always try to avoid these but curious to see how the new cars drive though its arcade it wouldnt suprise me it just felt the same. CHEERS!
Royraiden 12 Report post Posted July 31, 2014 Not surprised by the trailer but I guess Ill give it a go until the 2015 title shows up,which should bring some new content, features and most importantly improvements.
UNKLE 1,429 Report post Posted August 1, 2014 I wonder if you race in anything other then a Mercedes will it be impossible to catch the two silver arrows, they could always reintroduce the rubber band AI just for the Mercedes cars.
LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 1, 2014 If there's no realistic damage, I won't buy it. I believe I'll buy (import, eBay, whatever) the F1 2013 complete edition before (diminished damage but classic content, 80-90's cars, old tracks).
LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 1, 2014 No classic content for 2014 (and more infos):http://blog.codemasters.com/f1/08/f1-2014-and-beyond-your-questions-answered/
mertol 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2014 If you buy racing games from codemasters you are doing a bad favor to the community. They use the same graphics engine since 2007, their games are arcady (which might be ok for grid or dirt series but is not acceptable for F1 title), they port games from consoles, apart from a new livery and a new track here and there, they are not adding any new content and their controller support is horrible. Well, I want to go fast, I like sim-oriented games, but I was wondering about an interesting arcade game, and here's F1 2013 Classic Edition, with classic cars and tracks. Which means if I get a sim-oriented or an arcade-oriented game with pit stops and everything else, I'll be happy anyway. F1 2013 Classic Edition is, for me, the only F1 game from Codemasters worth buying, because of the classic content. Other than that, every game's the same since F1 2010, the first from Codemasters (look at VGChartz, their sales are going down since F1 2010 -- they're selling like 3 times less F1 games). I'll rent F1 2013, if I like it I'll buy it, and if I buy it, it will be the last F1 game I buy anyway.
LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 8, 2014 their games are arcady (which might be ok for grid or dirt series but is not acceptable for F1 title) Well, huh, sorry for this. I mean, everything has been done and will continue being done in "arcade" versions. Also, huh, people complaining F1 2013 is an arcade game... Ehh, you've driven a 2013 F1 in real life?! The FOM is the reason why F1 2013 (and others?) had diminished damage. Other than that, how do you compare a real F1 with F1 2013 or any other game or sim if you've never driven one? mertol 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2014 Easy - you can't drive ANY real car with keyboard or joypad let alone F1 car. And that is just to weed out like half the games out there which just so happens includes all of codemasters' games too.

And that is just to weed out like half the games out there which just so happens includes all of codemasters' games too. So I assume you don't play with rFactor or Assetto Corsa since they both can be played with a controller or a keyboard too. Your way to "weed out" the games you don't like actually weed out every game and sim there is since it's implemented everywhere anyway.
LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 9, 2014 Real cars are so "arcade" these days
mertol 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Cars with TC, ABS and similar crap don't count. Also great racing on that parking lot I'm amazed! Just like in a codemasters game.
LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Cars with TC, ABS and similar crap don't count. Also great racing on that parking lot I'm amazed! Just like in a codemasters game. Or rFactor or Assetto Corsa. I'm not doing a "bad favor for the (sim racing) community" by buying a Codemasters game, their community are almost not sim-oriented. That's like saying I'm doing a bad favor for the sim racing community by buying God of War. You're doing a disservice to the gaming community by saying arcade racing doesn't deserve to exist. Oh, but does F1 2013 feel realistic with a steering wheel? Looks like I won't have the answer to this because no one can compare with the real thing anyway. mertol 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 No I'm saying arcade F1 games shouldn't exist. You don't have to taste shit to know it is shit.
Royraiden 12 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 No I'm saying arcade F1 games shouldn't exist. You don't have to taste shit to know it is shit. For crying out loud dude!Relax, getting angry at some one else because of an internet argument about something you dont like in a thread about that same thing you dont like is quite silly to put it mildly. You dont like it? Thats great , you are entitled to dislike stuff, but why waste your energy trying to put it down or anyone who likes it because it isnt something that it doesnt claim to be ? We all love to spend long periods of time in our mancaves, it seems you been there too long, go get some fresh air.Now that would be a good favor to this community
LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 I mean, I stumbled upon someone who recorded a fast lap at the Nürburgring GP (in the game), and I wanted to compare the game with reality so I found another video, with the real-life car in the real-life track in 2013 too. Played them side by side to compare, and my jaw dropped: It was the exact same thing. Not "the same thing with some weird turns" like Shift 2, not "the same thing" like a video comparison where someone's trying to be Vettel in the game and doing everything to make the video comparison perfect. It was the real-life qualification lap, and a guy who seemingly wasn't even aware of this qualification lap (who may even have recorded his gameplay before the real-life qualification), braking at the same times, hitting the rumble strips at the same times, taking the same outside-inside-outside routes, and going past billboards at the same effing hundredth of a second in the same "you got to be kidding me this is dead on and this is not even laser scanned" track. If this is an arcade game, hell, bring them and I'll buy them all.

LeDechaine 51 Report post Posted August 14, 2014 Great argument - you buy the same bad, dated game every year and I'm not respectful for pointing it out. Respect. No I don't. I haven't even bought anything from Codemasters. And I never buy two similar racing games. I'll rent F1 2013, if I like it I'll buy it, and if I buy it, it will be the last F1 game I buy anyway. (I should have said "the first and last" game I buy to make it clearer, I guess...) Anyway, please stop polluting the thread, we all know Codemasters F1 games are quite similar, making yearly releases quite pointless (although F1 2011 had DRS and Kers, F1 2013 had classic content, and F1 2014 will have different engines, sounds, and turbos). And yes, a DLC (classic cars and tracks) is not a valid reason for a yearly release.
mertol 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2014 hell, bring them and I'll buy them all. I wrote about other issues too - not only similar games but you decided to focus only on realism like it is their best selling point.
