Complete newbie to racing in general, armed with a G27.Tips, help?

Hi i am completely new to racing, but i wanted to try it.

 

Do you have any tips or guides, i have found compared to other types of games there is a lack of tutorials which makes it hard for a noob. Could you give me some advice.

Well, the best way is to hook-up your wheel and set the game on professional.

Then drive, drive, drive.

The more you drive, the easier it gets. Like with anything, practice as much as you can.

Then find a league where they have 2 classes of drivers, the PRO's and the AM's. Drive in the AM class until you improve. Don't worry about coming last for a lot of races, this will happen. The main thing is to NEVER GIVE UP.

There are maby videos on youtube which teach you how to drive, such as approaching a corner, using the racing line and hitting apexes etc. A lot of these videos may not be for the game/sim your playing but as racing is racing you can easily watch the iracing school vidros and use the same techniques else where lets say rfactor.

 

If you reall are new to racing you can get away with a a few aids to help such as auto clutch and driving line, then turned them off after several laps although the best way is to not use

any and get stuck in.

 

Rfactor or Gamestock car are great titles to start simracing with.

Set your wheel up, put it on profesional, maybe turn on the driving line for a guide (Just to give you a bit of help about taking corners untill you get better at racing, then take it off and continue to drive and drive and drive), then like the other guy said -Drive, drive and drive. Don't give up. One of the things that sets Simulation aside from arcade is that you will not win every race, you will be in a pack with other drivers unless you are real good. I know from when i used to play NFS and stuff that when i lost i re-did it untill i came 1st, thats just not the case with simulation. Just drive and drive and drive. I am also new sim racing, but using that tactic, it has been getting better and better.

welcome to one of the non real car hobbies that cost as much as a real car.....but insirance is way cheaper!!!!!!!!
